Our son-in-law and daughter have just bought this boat (not at the price listed though). It is going to be a wonderful offshore fishing platform and pleasure cruise boat. There is a netting that surrounds the deck which will prevent the small dogs from falling overboard and which will deter Holly and Shadow, their Labrador, from gong for a swim. However, all our poochies will wear life jackets when they are out in the boat.…

LuLu (I'll post a picture of her later) came to us with a litter of puppies. She and her puppies had been on Craigslist and then was passed from hand to hand until one of our volunteers rescued them and since the Crowe home is the designated Maltese Rescue California rehab center for hurt Maltese and also the delivery room and nursery for litters of puppies we got mom and her four puppies.
Mom has giardia and we are treating her for that. BTW: a vet has recommended "Odoban"…

We had such an awesome time this weekend at our first K9 nosework trial!!! Kona trialed the first day and Buddy trialed the second day. Neither one got their title this weekend but boy, they did such a great job :) I was so proud of them! They both missed the same element, the interior search. They both found the scent, but didn't tell me…

I haven’t been on DK much lately, because I am up to my ears in Christmas decorations. Everywhere I look in my house, I see boxes, Santas, angels, gingerbread, or snowmen. It appears as if I have never walked into a Christmas shop without saying to myself, “I need one of everything!” For some odd reason, all this chaos and clutter only makes me want to go out and see what…

Lyric's SIX pups came a bit earlier than expected and boy, she had them fast! In the past, she has had at least 12 hours of labor, so when she started showing signs of pre-labor late Monday night, I settled in with her for a good night's sleep before the big day--and was excited that it would be 11-12-13! Well, the first pup arrived at 2 am--and I had to slap myself awake and get to work!
All went very well--Lyric had a big smile and a twinkle in her eye for the entire four hours it…

Look at you!
Saw that title “True Confessions” and thought “hummmm” what on earth happened in“Doodleville?”
Curiousity got the best of you so you stopped what you were doing, clicked “read more”, and here you are.
Can’t say I blame you! I would have done the same thing.
Even though I didn’t cancel the NFL package, wreck the car or accidentally throw away a telephone…

On the day after Veteran's Day, I thought that I would write down my personal manifesto...

DH volunteered to pick up Quincy from Day Camp today, that was nice. He is nice and on the way home he stopped and bought the ingredients for a special dinner from our fish monger- bronzini!
nice fish, mild, mellow, but very boney. Well, he hates bones in his fish so the selling point is our fish mongers are very adept at de-boning. Of course this time consuming talent raises the cost of an already pricey fish, but well worth the price. He was going to surprise me,…

It's not me.
My nearly 4 year old came into our room this morning and whispered that Rosco told her he wants a kitty. We went along with it for a bit then she admitted she actually gave him this idea and "Mommy can we go to the pet store to look at kitties?" My answer disappointed. She then offered plan C: Let's go to the breeder and buy a puppy! Final negotiation was that when she turns 10 we can buy a puppy. 5 minutes later she…

I am so proud of my boy Paz, who is a registered Pet Partner's therapy dog. Last night Paz provided his special support to a traumatized 7 year old child who was the victim of a violent assault by an adult; prosecutors at the NYC Family Justice Center in Brooklyn (where I work) needed the child's(victim) testimony in order to indict the person who had committed the assault, and the child was too afraid to speak. Then Paz appeared, nuzzled right up to the child and worked his amazing magic…

I dont even know what to say about this day....maybe that I'm just overwhelmed and feel like curling up in bed and crying. It all started last night, I had treated Maggie for worms on sunday-tuesday just as a precaution, and last night roundworms showed up in her stool, well, they were dead so I've cleaned the yard and the house like a maniac, she doesn't have diarrhea and she's acting like she doesnt have a care in the world, I'm happy for her. Then this morning I take Jace out for his…

Last Thursday we made an appointment to establish the dogs at a vet and to have Kona's ears examined. He had a double ear infection because while I was on the mainland for two weeks, no one remembered to take care of doodle ears. It's only his second ear infection in six years. Vet visit #1.
Then the crazies happened. On Friday at the beach Kona's eye became bright red and then it was white and swollen! We rushed him to the vet. He had a laceration on his inner eyelid. So very…
