My 10 week old puppy likes to chew on rocks, not a good idea. We gave her an ice cube from our ice maker and she loves them. Must feel good on her little teething mouth. Keeps her busy for awhile and does not make a mess.

Oh my goodness. Day 2 with Mandi, 8 week old German Shepherd. Sam LD has been great. Right now they are both sleeping. We started crate training today. How can a puppy make so much noise? She is a howler. Sam is very tolerant and I think was thinking "What a crazy girl"!!!!

This will make 3, yes 3. Jaeger the eldest at 5(ausie shep mix), my beloved DK Sam 1 & 1/2 y/o and now by my DK hubbies choice and suggestion a German Shepherd pup in 2 weeks. She will 8 weeks when we get her and her name is Mandy. He thinks we need one because we live in the woods. She is adorable. She met her new family last week and was accepted without any problems. So here goes again with puppy training. Sams puppy training seems like forever…

Sam managed to cut his right back paw pad on a piece of siding in the construction zone of the house. He is now on restricted activity and has to walk on a leash untill this heals. The vet put him on Amoxicillin and said to leave the bandage off as much as possible. It is still oozing, but looks clean. Poor boy he doesn't understand why he cannot play in the woods.

How many of you have an alarm clock Doodle? Mine goes off at about 7:15 every morning no matter what time we go to bed and I do not need to get up that early. He is big enough to lay his head on the bed and look me in the eye, while he is standing up. Wish I could capture a pic of that, never mind no morning pics of me. DD comes out this morning and says "you are up early today". Okay what land does he live in, this is the norm. We are both retired…

Okay I admit that I should walk Sam more. At home he plays hard and runs up and down the wooded ravines. We are visiting our daughter in Wisconsin and there are too many dogs in the neighborhood to just let him run, so I put on his Ceasar Milan Illusion Collar. We have used it a few times. What can I say he was a good boy. His history is he is a puller and at 86# was not fun to walk on lease. With this collar it is easier to make the correction and it stays where it needs to be to do the…

Once upon a time Sam discovered he liked to catch lights and reflections. HIs Doodle Dad and he had a great time. Chasing, running and leaping his 86#'s all over the house. He cannot figure out why he cannot catch it, oh how he wants to retrieve it. When the sun shines in the window and leaves its light on the ceiling or floor Sam barks and cries at it, untill we say enough and have him lay down. Sam wants to know if anyone else likes to do this? Jaeger could care less and I think he thinks Sam…

Amongst the boxes, paper, boxes and more boxes the dogs & peopls are happily settling in. Yesterday DH took the dogs to the beach to run and play. Sam is used to going to the beach in the summer and is very water crazy. DH said that Sam went running to water, got his feet wet and ran back out. Brrrrr it is still toooo cold. Wish I had it on video. But I can just imagine the look on DD face. Any DDs looking for beach bums this summer let us know. We love to play in the water. Think NO MORE…

I have recently heard it is good to mix dry and wet dog food. Healthier for the dogs. Does anyone do this?. I know I have seen Ceasar MIlan feed both. My dogs eat dry dog food only.

HELP! Sam has been licking his hind end(butt). My husband put some Pederson ointment on and he stopped. There does not seem to be anything visually wrong, no odor. Poor puppy--he is so frustrated. I am going to call the vet today. Any advise is appreciated.

Sam went to his groomer yesterday. She did a GREAT job. I am waiting for the pics she took and will post them when I get them. He looked so fluffy and a handsome doodle dog. He is so good for her. I think he enjoys it. Now after awhile his leg hair went back to the curly/wavey look. As well as other places. He has really soft wavy section on top of his head and a coarser wavey section down the middle of his back.We will get a little respite from the shedding for a few days. (Yes he is one of…
