And now, the Rest of the Story. My visit to Laurie’s House
I truly have planned many trips east to be with my DK friends. It is always one thing or another and for four years I just could not make it happen. When I drove east to pick up Starlit, I had been awake 49 hours and missed my chance to meet F. Even four years ago, there were no smart phones or fancy communication and by the time we connected I was hours away. What a missed opportunity which I’ve regretted since…

We have had many posts here on DK about Seat Belt issues. I think I've finally found our answer to this very debated topic. Last week, a very long week, the last straw for me was when Spud’s seat belt broke as I used the brakes. The next moment, Spud was roaming about the van. How safe is…

It's been a week and I can't stop thinking about the dog who got away. I think, I will always feel this way about my three-week fostering of a Goldendoodle puppy I named Sweetie.
Although I am filled with mixed emotions, I feel more lucky to have had this experience. At the time I really did not want to foster. I wanted nothing to do with rescues. I did not want another dog who drained my energy and emotions. Sometimes, we think we are healing these poor rescues but…

During the winter we check in on my elderly mother more often to clean the snow and salt from the walks and driveway. As I was trying to find a snow brush in her car to attack the snow and ice, I found a Big Blue exercise ball in her car. I looked at my husband and both of our eyes looked with fear. I don’t know what scares me more, the thought of this 87 year old woman driving a car to a get a Big Blue Ball or trying to balance her body in some sort of contortion doing…

As I drove in heavy traffic through town in a REALLY BAD neighborhood today I saw what looked like a medium doodle of about 38-40lbs. Tail was shorter, so maybe a poodle mix? Beautiful red/apricot shaded colors. This poor red dog look scruffy like maybe someone had done a really bad scissor cut ( but I've done that a few times to my doodles) It's weight was good and other than that, was it just a bad hair cut? A…

For the first time in his life--DH is laid off from work. I encourage him to enjoy his time and get creative. He says he is going crazy. What do you think? Among many other things, here is what he did today. Just for laughs :) He lined them all up on the work bench and drilled holes. The dogs were stealing them and running away. They barked. Even Doodles Say, " WTD?… Continue

In 1993 I fell in LOVE with my first computer, IBM 8088XT. It was love at first touch.
In 1995 during my divorce I named my new Pack Bell Computer, Puter. He was my man.
My X-husband was so jeolous and this fueled the fire…

Many of you have asked recently if I have ever heard from Lacey? Is she doing okay? Do I ever hear from her?
Last October she was seen tied to a tree for several days at an abandon house in a bad part of town.
The little girl I named Lacey in the parking lot of the dog pound back in October because her hair was so pretty and her eyes were so brittle and sad. The crouched down dog who I thought was a medium because she could not…

For several reasons today I was excused and sent home early! YEAH. Happily escaping through the parking lot I approach my husband's huge van when it occurred to me that the keys only fit the ignition not the door.
Luckily where I work they will break you in for free but it takes a good 45 mins some days. There I stand dejected for a good five minutes. So much for getting to leave early.
So there I stand, and stand, and pace, and stand, and pace some more, as I watch for the…

Many of you mention in posts you are thinking of adding another doodle to your pack. Have you ever thought about adoption? This girl is listed on DRC but her pictures just do not do her justice.
Meet Hailey. She is an 8 month old black goldendoodle, 50lbs and growing. Right now she is on the skinny side but after eating 10lbs of food the first week in my home, she has me convinced she is growing! Her coat is…

Our hearts are so full, exhausted, and empty today.
For weeks I have talked with a woman in Wisconsin about Lace. Each day she would apologize for calling and writing so often. I told her she needed to call me this much. She needed to hear all that was going on. I would tell her the worst--holding back the good. I didn't want anyone to know what an angel I really had. I wanted to keep her all to myself. She was a great dog, a wonderful girl, with a broken heart and a lost soul. I also…

Quick question I need to put out here. All Points Bulletin.
One of our members trains therapy dogs. What is her name? I think she had two for sale a few months back she had already trained this purpose. She may have her own website too if I remember.
Someone is writing me for a doodle to train to take into schools so children can read to the dog. I think she teaches reading.
Thanks, Joanne

Even though I live just 8 miles south of the Lake Erie Snow Belt in NE Ohio, when they start talking
FEET of SNOW and not INCHES of Snow I get nervous. My husband is in Eastern PA but he has checked in.
Thinking of all you East Coast Doodles. Check in here and let us all know how you are doing today. Last night I heard there was no power in many areas and 1 car with a doodle transport was stranded ( but okay now ).
So here is your sign in sheet. Hope you are…

On Sunday we traveled to Youngstown to attended PET EXPO 2009 and visit our many Doodle friends in that part of Ohio. Prior to attending Spud was invited to participate in a fashion show--which I quietly declined. A few moments before, Beth informed me our sweet Youngstown Doodle Friends placed him in the line-up anyway :) After all he was wearing his favorite scarf he should at least show it off.
He did his little stint and we returned the audience to find a seat. While my back was…

What a great time we had meeting you all in Columbus. Did anyone get a count on attended doodles? For some reason I get ADHD with all the activities and it all becomes a whirlwind. I know I enjoy myself as much as the dogs do. Nice to meet you all!
My pictures are full of doodle butts so not much visual memories to share with you.
Thanks again for a beautiful day. Roger, Joanne, and Spud

Spud and I took a different route on our walk the other day and I want to say we met a
( I don't know what to politely call him ) man who was painting a garage--
(in 37 degree temperature, yeah right, that paint will stick?? ).
He approaches me at the end of the drive.
I have shorted the conversation, but you truly don't want to hear it all and it took me a while to run like hell out of there:
Man: What type of dog is that?
Me: A…
