Samantha's first time at the ocean. Hates tghe hose and pool at the dog park. It took her an hour but she finally got in and had a blast. She will do anything for a ball!

Kali just can't get enough of swimming. She usually comes back with a beard full of sand and sopping wet, but she's always happiest at the beach.

My doodle, Mickey, loves the water! Whether he's in it, near it, face and beard in it, in the pool, shower or bath, he's in heaven!

Swimming Doodles is a great idea! I have two, Bella and Sunni. Sunni was 4 months old when she was introduced to the lake. She was a little anxious at first. Now we have to hold on to her until we get out of the boat dock or she is overboard. She taught herself how to climb the ladder to get into the boat. Sunni is now 4 yr and has taught Bella how to swim and get into the boat this summer. Bella resembled a jacuzzi for several weeks. Just when we thought we were going to have a vertical swimmer Bella discovered she could go faster if she stretched out.
They prefer the floating foam balls that are covered
in fabric, these ball last for years. Bella pushes hers
off the back of the boat if no one will throw it so she
can jump in after it. We get lots of lookers from those who are passing by. Check out their picture on
the deck of the boat.

Soon it will be too cold to take them to the lake. North Arkansas weather does not allow for water sports after early October. It would be nice if some
of the indoor pools would allow pets.

The lake water has been a problem with Sunni. She has more hair in her ears. We now flush them with an alcohol mixture after swimming which prevents the yeast problem.

Anyone else have problems with yeast in the ears? Your doods, I mean. :-)

I purchased a life preserver for Harlee this year. As I got a little freightened when he swam way out after a Seagull. Probably Jonathan Livingston Seagull:-)

Harlee Bear loves the water, I think better then retrieving as he cools down and stay's cool the whole day when on the shores of Great Lake Huron, Evergreen Beach north of Rogers City,MI It is wonderful to see them get all the exercise they need when swimming etc. Boy do they ever die when the day is done. we took our 11 month old doodle, Roo and our 4 month old doodle, Tigger to the beach ( a leash required beach) last Saturday. It was so much fun. After their initial surprise at the moving water... and such a very big pool, they both loved it. Tigger the little one was hysterical. He still has that puppy bounce where his little body just hops up and down. he spent then entire time jumping over waves. We were at Cardiff beach, which was really good as everyone seemed to be very used to seeing dogs there and it was not very crowded.
