I definitely don't do grooming myself because over time I think it has become clear that I simply lack the talent (though I will keep trying). Despite the fact that M.J. could probably still fit in the kitchen sink (she weighs 18lbs) I bathe her in the tub/shower and just get in there with her. When M.J. was transitioning from her puppy coat to her adult coat there was lots of matting but now not so much and it's totally manageable (her coat is wavy though so I'm sure that helps vs a curly coat). The Aroma Paws is a lovely shampoo (several scents/formulations to choose from) and I love the ingredients but it doesn't help with staining, it's the SB Blueberry Facial that has helped us with that. Despite how expensive it is, I bought our bottle of SB Blueberry Facial 3+ months ago and still have at least 80% of it left so as long as you limit where you use it I think it can be totally worth it. I'm not sure how it works or if it will work for all staining but I was so frustrated with the tear staining that I was willing to try anything. :)
Sadie is such a beauty! My little M.J. had problems with staining around her eyes more than her beard and is at present more white/cream than tan/apricot though she also changes colors as her coat grows out between grooming appointments. What I found that seems to work for her is the South Bark Blueberry Facial. It is crazy expensive, I think, but we only use it on the areas where she is prone to staining when we bathe her once a week. We let it sit while we shampoo the rest of her with her usual Aroma Paws.
I wouldn't, especially not for the first couple of weeks. It could easily upset her digestive tract. (And I have found most of the claims for apple cider vinegar to be totally bogus, anyway).
Use a stainless steel bowl and bottled water, both may help cut down on facial staining. But a little staining is going to happen no matter what you do.
I am getting my white doodle puppy in 2 weeks. I read putting a little apple cider vinegar in their drinking water helps keep the beard white. Anyone tried it?
For Shanen ... here's a progression video of our pup's first year!
Please tell me if there's already something like this out there, but I'm interested in seeing people post picts of their dogs as puppies and then again as adults. (Along the growth spectrum would be even better!) I find myself seeing adult English Goldendoodles thinking, "I can see Massie looking like that when she's full grown". :) It would just be fun to see. Any thoughts or takers?
Hi Annie,
Traz is a 6 month old, male, multigen Australian Labradoodle from Gabby Jack Ranch in Penn Valley, CA. We are his guardian family and have had him for almost 2 months now. He's a precious boy. It's nice to see doodles that resemble each other. Hope your day is going well.

Jackson 2nd vet visit. We go back 9/2 for the final round of parvo5in1 shots. How soon after that would you suggest i start taking him to public places parks/beach? We are patiently, but pretty anxious to get outdoors:)
Hi Patty :) The link doesn't work :(
