Garden Group

I hope there are many gardeners among us doodle owners. After all we must be nurturers. We can share information on what's safe for dogs, how to keep them from destroying plantings and all green related things.

Sorry, at least now I'll complain less about our rain.

Hi, F.!  Our snowdrops are already open.  And.....we have lots of daffodils, tulips and irises emerging.  They are already 2 - 4 inhes tall.  Looks like spring is right around the corner.  Kathy feeds the birds every morning and they are singing like it's spring.

My snowdrops are ready to open up!! Come on spring. Will my completely crushed dead looking lawn revive?

If yours is the same as mine it takes well to lots of abuse. I moved it a few years ago and it barely had any roots. It went on to grow happily in it's new spot. Occasionally some parts die off but the shrub marches on.

We noticed today that part of our Vitex Chaste bush has died, it now looks very sad. Hopefully we can trim it baqck in the spring and it will recover and look beautiful next year.

I love portulaca too and have some in pots ow. The only trouble is it doesn't get very high for a big, raised planter.

Another annual that I love for dry, sunny spots is portulaca, or moss rose, as it's commonly called. It blooms in every shade imaginable, and needs very little water or care.

I love Zinnias! I'll have to check in to that one!
