I agree the F1 is the best to get the large doodle my Ozzy is 85lbs
Bonnie - You will be able to find a large doodle if that is what you want. I agree most breeders are going for smaller dogs, but the big guys (and gals) are still out there. Your best bet will be a F1. Debbie, my dogs were 105 lbs (F1 labradoodle) and 90 lbs (f1b goldendoodle). None of the parents were that large.
Debbie... all the more doodle to love!
I've been wondering if I will be able to find a big doodle when the time comes. It seems like breeders are heavily into those tiny kinds. Our Kona at 90+ and Owen at 70+ do not seem big to me!
I'm going to make a note of Charlie and Teddi's statistics for the next time someone thinks that a given puppy will end up averaging somewhere between his mom and dad's weights, lol.
Charlie,(black male) born Dec 2008 is a lean 107 lbs, Teddi (blonde female) born Oct 2009 is 86 lbs. They both have the same mom and dad, and neither was over 65 lbs. I have the most loveable giant doodles : )
Congrats Julie. I also love the big guys.
We Love our Gentle Giant.. I agree about the no bending down. Big Doodles rule
