I am retired, so my dogs have company constantly, most days. I always spend time playing with them no matter how busy I get. I have been to agility and rally at local dog shows, but have never heard of AGILIO. I will have to ask my dog trainer friend if there is anything like that in our area. If there is, I am sure she ill be trying it, All of her dogs have had OTCH titles.

we are doing this calss just for fun too...not competition. The ownwe of our day care sort of made up this AGILIO Class, combination of agility and rally -o which, I "believe focuses more on walking with your dog , having your dog leave and then return....Paddy is young, totally full of energy and spunk, so he goes to camp while I work and we try to take one class one evening a week together, the classes have been a great way to get through this winter...we are expecting 15 inches of snow tomorrow....although I am no fan of it, Paddy loves the snow and he Loves to accompany me outside to shovel.
Our day camp is really into competiiton however a number of the classes are non-compttive and that is part of the reason I signed us up for AGILIO. I will keep you posted on how the class is...week one of the six week class, starts tomorrow (Monday) night, although I have a sneaking suspicion, Paddy will be home tomorrow, and there will likely not be an evening class either, as the camp generally closes in bad weather. I will let you know...so far we have done basic obediance, recall, and beyond the basics obediance two....

I also am interested in agility. I have no desire to compete but I think Gracie would have a blast. And she would expend mental and phisical energy at it. Are there groups out there that just do it for fun? What is rally-o?

My dog, Paddy ( is 8 months old today) has been going to doggie day care at a great place in Westhampton MAssachusetts, It's Pawsible Dog Training Center. Paddy loves it, he has been going since he was 8 weeks old....it's great. Obviously some staff love him more than others ( some staff are not doodle dog people however others just love him) however everyone is really great with him. He has incurred a couple of back leg ( and I have kept him home for a week to rest when this has occurred), what I think are muscle pulls, however he runs and runs and runs and runs....he loves camp, we get home at night, Paddy eats and we go out for a walk in downtown....then settle which usually includes brusging his fleecy coat. We are enrolling in Agilio this week for 6 weeks , a combination of agility and rally-o....I am interested in Dga too!

Yeah, daycare for us is a necessity. In fact there are many doodles at daycare, much more than I ever say on the street. I guess that says that doodles are real energetic or that doodle owners really dote on their babies!!! I work and Gracie is very high energy (just turned 1 year). Between the hours I work and my arthritis, I don't have the time to help spend her energy. Then on weekends we visit our local dog park each day to let her run. Like you said, we find that we don't know any human names at our local dog park, but you can bet we know all the dog names. Last night we had snow. This is Memphis, TN. We don't get snow here!!! But I guess I must think of some in house exercise. Maybe I'll play "hide and seek" like I saw on "It's Me or the Dog" last night.

I convinced the vet in our area to do "daycare" for Murphy when he was a pup. (I work and felt terribly guilty leaving him home.) Needless to say, it expanded. Now he only goes about once a month but he LOVES it and they love him.
When he was about 2, a lady came in with an eight week old doodle pup. (Doodles are rare here) The ladies asked her if she knew how big he was going to be.
"Yes, the breeder told me 35-40 lbs".
The ladies smiled at each other. "We have a doodle that comes to day care. Would you like to see him?"
Outside is 92 lb goofball Murphy galloping around the yard.
They said she looked like she wanted to cry. Then brought her husband back to see him.

I knew all the dog names but sometimes forgot the humans. Many would tell me that when they came home, their dog looked disappointed that it wasn't me, and would look for me around the time I normally came. It made me feel good. I treated ever animal as if it were my own, took pics of every animal I took care of and have them in an album. I gave the owners a copy of the pics, they loved it. I miss doing it, but not going out in bad weather.

Cody always loved going to daycare. He'd whine and jump around in the car as soon as we turned down the road that led there. Then, he'd practically leap out the window and run into the lobby. When they'd take him back, you could see him bouncing all the way. What really impressed me was somthing that happened recently, though. He hasn't been in a few months (I've been home more so the need to take him isn't as great). We went to a pet expo and his daycare people were there. I came up to comment on how much he enjoyed them, thinking they had no idea who he or I was. Before I could say a thing they looked and said, "Cody! We've missed you!" That's dedication!

Jersey eats 2xs a day, 3/4 c of kibble each time. That day care job would be a good one for me. I used to own a petsitting business before my arthritis got real bad. I love all animals, especially dogs though.

Well, if I am treating stomach ails, I would give a couple of cubes three times a day. As just a healthful food addition I would add 1 or 2 cubes per bowl. Does she eat 1x daily? Make sure the pumpkin is pure with no sugar added. My Gracie is a mini GD too. She just turned 1 year and is 29 lbs. Before starting at daycare, I went to the daycare center and toured, unscheduled. I asked about various dogs and watched them for awhile. I was pleased to see that a human is with the dogs at all times to supervise. I also discovered that the employees all know each dog and their personalities, helps with management of the pack. My daycare also has two sides, split according to dog size and temperment.
