Love the Duke in Paris photo! Would love to take Coco to Europe at some point but am wondering about the flights there and back. Any info re airlines and how that part of it went would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Goats allowed but not dogs?  What are they thinking aside from free mowing?

That picture of Duke is one to submit for the Doodle calendar

Duke in Paris. ICE train is dog friendly. The big bus tours and river boat tours are dog friendly. We rode the metro around with Duke. Cannot go into museums and most of the gardens. We got escorted out of the Luxembourg gardens even though they had goats tied up on the grass there. Made no sense!

If you are interested in Dog friendly communities, Moab Ut is great!  With the exception of the Arches & Canyonlands Ntl Parks, you can go everywhere and anywhere with your dog, hotels & motels are pet friendly. There is plenty of hiking spots that are just as spectacular as being in the Natl Parks.

We are going to Durango CO soon and they claim to be dog friendly - we'll see!

Our Coco is a year and a half old now and has been on two long road trips with us in our car. Last year from Northern CA up through Oregon and Washington and this Spring all across the U.S. and back, five weeks and a few days. We mainly stayed in hotels and with friends. Lots of LaQuinta Inns, some really great and others marginal, but all dog friendly for no extra charge. National Parks continue to be dog unfriendly but Crater Lake does have two dog friendly trails. Some highlights of the cross country trip were Avery Island LA, which has a dog friendly drive and hike swamp/botanical garden; the Capital Mall in Washinton DC was a fun walk with her especially around the Washington Monument; the nice sculpture garden at the Walker Art Museum in Minneapolis is dog friendly; we had a great time posing with her at the Chicago Bean in Millennium Park but discovered on the way out that dogs are not welcome in the park. We visited some nice dog parks along the way in Las Vegas, Santa Fe and Charleston and New Orleans has a great one that requires a permit which you can get in advance on line or by mail. We were not able to visit because Coco had a cough but we did drive by. We used doggy day care in Washington DC, Planet Pet, so we could visit the museums and another one in a Detroit suburb. DC went very well and Detroit was OK. Chicago was cancelled due to a major dog flu outbreak happening at the time. Coco did really well and there were no problems in the car or anywhere else the entire trip. The only slight disappointment was dining. It was too cold or wet for much outdoor dining so we ended up with a lot of take out. This could be a problem for foodies. Our friends all said Coco was a fine houseguest and welcome back. Overall, we love traveling with our doodle.

Joyce, my granddaughter gets violently motion sick in our car, yet not at all in the RV.  We tried meds for motion sickness when she is in our car and it has worked.  Might that work for Cody (in dog form of course?)

We traveled in our RV with our doodles many times without any problems. We took the table out of the RV and put 1 large crate in there for them. There was enough room next to their crate to stack 2 medium crates for our dachshunds, so we just traveled in style!  We have decided however, that the RV is a bit too much for hubby to drive these days, so we are selling that and plan to either fly or drive to our vacation spots. Unfortunately, Cody gets violently carsick in the backseat of our car!  Something that never happened in the RV. Thankfully, we have a wonderful sitter that moves into our home to take care of house and critters while we are gone. I do suspect that our trips will be less frequent and shorter though if our "babies" aren't with us.
