OH. MY. DOODLE. Did I say triple the work? I might have understated that just a wee bit! Exponential might be a better description. We LOVE our puppies. We do. We really, really do. I have convinced myself that Sadie and Coal are "the best pups in the world," because there is no other option for my mental health.
Here is what people need to know about having litter mate puppies: Most people, our family included, get two puppies with the well-intentioned, but completely…

My dogs are not the best-trained dogs in the world. In fact, on a scale of 1-10, 10 being the most obedient, on his best day Vern would get a 6 and Fudge, on any day, would get a 3. The command that gives us the most trouble is recall, because they can never recall what it means when I yell, “COME!” Sometimes they do surprise me and come running when I call them, but on other days Vern looks…

Sweet Precious Jack… I am writing this a little early as it looks like your actual birthday day is not going to be a good one for me, So I will write now and tomorrow I will rub your belly all day long and on the 6th.. I am sure your Grammie will spoil you rotten. You won't have any idea as we treat you every day as if it is your birthday.
There isn't a toy or a thing I can think of that you need, would want or could even fathom. So for your birthday I bought special…

March is a big month here at our house. It is sadly when we will have the 1st anniversary of loosing our Sophie but it is also the birthday month for both girls and we are going to choose to celebrate those rather than be sad at missing our Sophie ... as she would want us to celebrate! Miss Lucy gets to go first. Today is Lucy's 6th birthday. It is hard to believe that it has been six years since they came home. …

Hello everybody – allow me to introduce you to a very special lady…
I’ve talked about her here, here, and here! She’s my “mommy!” and the “other” furrvorite lady in Harley’s life……

I can't believe my boy is 2 years old!! Shaggy has become my new shadow ever since my lab Gus passed away last spring. Even though Shaggy has been a bit of a challenge to train, (he's not at all food motivated and he still thinks a leash is just a suggestion to heal), and the hair he sheds gets stuck on everything, I wouldn't want him any other way. He is such a hoot, and makes me smile and laugh all the time! I sure do love this…

Holly doesn't do a lot of tricks. She sits on command and shakes hands but not much more; except to be a therapy dog to scared little Maltese rescues. However, that's the most important thing she could ever do...
Our rescue had a event today at a Petco store in Irvine, CA. One of our fosters brought an 11-month old Maltese-Poodle, Luke to the event. Every time Luke saw a big dog he went crazy, barking and screaming and wanting to kill it. He even wanted to attack a big…

So today was the day I was going to meet Dexter for the first time. After about four hours of sleep I got in my car to make the three hour drive to see my boy. My three hour drive turned into six after the main road was shut down from an accident plus traffic galore. My eyes were blurry, my legs stiff and my brain fogged but I finally made it! Time to meet my little man!
I will start off by saying he is the sweetest little boy. He came right to me and said hello. He was…

Some of you may have seen to post from Sheri (Lucy & AnnaBelle's Mom) about her DK bucket list and a visit this weekend. Well today was the day.....and I was the lucky Doodle Kisses friend that she visited. I've known Sheri ever since I joined DK and have always admired her. She was such an inspiration as she went through so much with Sophie's illness and still always managed to help others. She has fostered for the DRC five times, and who will ever forget what she did for Honey and…
