What an odd question. “can dogs throw tantrums?” I’m compelled to say “yes”, cause that’s what it looks like at our house.
DD (doodle daughter) had a memorable tantrum when we lived in Fort Bragg, North Carolina..
I left…

I was out shopping for puppy supplies for Colonel Esau and of course I had to pick up a few treats for my two other favorites dogs waiting back home ... at first Sophie didn't seem too interested in the one I got her - she is somewhat picky about her "presents" - but turns out she liked it just fine once she got home:

The flooding disaster in Colorado is devastating…
As a member of “The Blogger Disaster Response Network”, Groovy Goldendoodles™ wanted to share some vital information to all our readers. It’s not long, but terribly important.
The extreme flooding disaster in Colorado is exactly why this network exists. Together our voices are amplified.

Lyric has been bred this weekend for the last time--she will have pups in mid-November--her new hubby is Cooper, a delightful 32 pound hunk with lots of pep and personality! They hit it off right away and love was in the air for several days--I will keep you all posted on our progress! Meanwhile, enjoy this picture of Cooper, the dad!…

We love Vern. We really do, but with the windows open all night, he has taken to barking at lots of noises throughout the night. Last night, John let the dogs out and said he knew something was out there because he could hear something like a chain rattle. I don’t know about you, but I have a vivid imagination and I have seen enough horror movies to know you don’t go looking for something or…

The bond between dogs and children is utterly amazing! It will captivate and almost hypnotize you when you see it happening.
I must confess though, I never paid “close” attention to the interactions until Harley & Leo entered my life. Now I am consistently fascinated with the unspoken language between the two.
You may recall THE LITTLE RASCALS, a story posted about our neighbors moving…

I think he is SO handsome. He is the best puppy ever! We haven't had an accident for over a week. I finally mounted his bells so that he could reach them without us picking him up-we had them just hanging from our key holder. Jack started going to the door on his own but poor guy couldn't reach the bells so he would just sit and wait for us to notice. Now we will do a little re-training to ring bells totally on his won. He has learned to sit and stay. He gets groomed-brushed and…

UPDATE: I called the breeder to see if "nature took it's course".. It's a no-go ; ( And they have decided to not move forward with any more litters of goldendoodles..
Back to the drawing board we go!! I am sad but I know it will happen when it's supposed too!!
I have finally convinced my DH to get a new baby brother for Bailey... So I contacted the breeder where we got Bailey from last month. She said she had taken a break from breeding but was planning a litter…

While pursuing Pinterest (one of my regular activities), I came upon this photo which reminds me oh so much of my Milt Dog:

This blog is dedicated to all the loving foster parents out there! I really have so much respect for you and the patience, dedication, and love you have for all your fosters. I really do not know how you are able to open up your hearts and lives to these precious creatures and then have to say good bye.
Last week, we brought home a dog that was in a horrible situation in hopes to find him a better home. He was not a stray but a puppy we once knew and his life has just…

If I could only do it all over again…
I would have never brought “Wilson” home…
No really, three years ago I thought it was the absolute “cutest thing” ever. Watching him carry “Wilson” around…

We have the same thing happen here night after night. It reminds me of the movie, Groundhog Day, where the guy keeps waking up to find the same day repeated over and over. …

Alright, I already know Oscar believes ALL toys are HIS. From the day we brought him home at 8 weeks he made that very clear. He was the smallest male of his litter and maybe he learned it then. He had to be assertive to get what he wanted. By 'assertive' I mean patient and able to take advantage of an opportunity. He's smart and not mean in the least. No aggressive tendencies and no 'resource guarding'. If there's a toy another dog has that he wants, he will most definitely get it in the…

Many thanks to Bob, Matt, and Sophie for hosting our first ever Bucks County Doodles Romp last Sunday! Dogs and people had a lot of fun and Sophie's backyard was just perfect for doodle antics! Sophie is the sweetest girl with the most gorgeous red coat. Some of you may remember that Sophie was seriously ill not too long ago so it was great to see her healthy and running again! Yay! We loved meeting Bob, Matt and Sophie, Adrienne and Dougie, Alla and Baila (founder of the group), Marcie,…

My Boys are fine, but life for me is truly the pits when the Boys aren’t feeling well. It’s the one time when I wish either they could speak or I could bark!
When Leo’s not at 100% he’ll look at you with those heart breaking eyes and try as he might, we just can’t seem to connect.

To honor the memory of Brooke Jackman, who at the age of 23 perished during the attacks on the World Trade Center, Paz and I worked at the Brooke Jackman Read-A-Thon at Barnes & Noble in Tribeca (Lower Manhattan, near the World Trade Center site) this past Saturday (Sept. 7), which is an event sponsored by the Brooke Jackman Foundation; this foundation has opened the door to literacy for so many children and moms we serve at the Brooklyn…

I knew my Boys were fond of riding. They are (what one would call) my “road dogs” (pun intended)…
The car is always packed and ready for any unscheduled, impromptu excursions. And they are always up for a road trip!
Whether it’s…
