Remy's First 5 days

Well, we've made it though the first 5 days with a rescue dood! He's AWESOME!!! I can't believe how far he's come in such a short time. We adopted Remy last Saturday and have seem him change so much. He's become the adorable, loving puppy I was hoping for when I got this "bright idea" to become a new mom again. We've been very lucky, from some of the reading I've done. Doodle Nose hair!

Yankee has the most perfect hair on his nose. It fans out just right. I love the way it looks.

I am wondering if all doodle noses are like this or just some of them. Here is a picture so you can see what I mean.

What A Year!

This Saturday marks the one-year anniversary of the day that Yoda joined our family! Exactly a year ago we went to see two doodle brothers at the SPCA and were told that they both had a ton of applications and we would never get either one. More vet bills.

These dogs are going to put my vet in a porsche pretty soon.

Today after our walk, I noticed blood on the floor. Off to examine both dogs and found Yankee had a bloody foot. His pad was cut as well as the skin beside it. Not sure how he did it and he wasn't limping. So off to the vet where they glued his pad and bandaged his foot. They wanted him to wear a cone and I said NO WAY. He was miserable the last and only time he wore one. They were concerned about him chewing at it but I… Continue

Lady Peri Update

Lady Peri is doing so well...she graduated from puppy obedience on Saturday! We are going to start the next level of training with her: "Basic Family Manners", where she will get better about walking through a group of people, not jumping, etc... I do think we will take her on to Canine Good Citizen level of certification once she gets older. She yearns to learn! LOL

Teaching A Water Dog To Swim

It's always amusing when someone comments on how I have to give my water dog swimming lessons.

Yeah, it's supposed to come naturally, but Murphy's never seen water. Before this summer, he'd never been in water. I asked the breeder, back when I first got him, and she said by the time he was old enough to swim, it was already too cold to put him in the pool. My Vinny loves to swim!

Just got back from a great playdate w/ our neighbors goldendoodle. They went for a nice
long walk and played in the park. When we got home they jumped in her pool! Vinny was
doing laps in circles in the pool! He absolutely loves it :) What a nice way to start off our day!
