Last day of school tomorrow.....SIGH

Everyday the bus stops in front of our house and picks up about 4 grade school kids who live on our street. Every morning at about the same time, I am getting ready to leave for work. Charley is back!

Yankee's best friend Charley has been under house arrest after contracting a contagious disease. They finally got back together today at the dog park after 6 weeks apart. They have been playing together for a year, 3 or 4 times a week.

Bocker Represents Labradoodles for Animal Planet's DOGS 101

I was lucky enough to represent labradoodles in Animal Planet's DOGS 101. We filmed in NYC a few weeks ago. It was a segment on hybrids. Was a lot of fun and a lot of work posing under the hot lights for so long. They said it should air sometime in October.. Lyme Disease. Time for me to vent.

Lyme disease. Who knew!

Since January, I have been paranoid about her eating. Jan/Feb we had some difficulty getting her to eat ENOUGH.. or so I thought. I was really nervous she was loosing weight. Everyone told me it was all of the adjusting to a new home and new eyesight after eye surgery. Never In My Life!!

Flipping channels - stopped at Animal Planet. What do I see? A grooming show that takes gorgeous dogs and turns them into 'living works of art' by using food coloring and clipping and blowdrying,
They turn mostly standard poodles into a Transformer, cowgirl, dinosaurs, a jungle theme who won competition and $2500.
They use wigs, decorations, hair spray and gel.

New Puppy

This will make 3, yes 3. Jaeger the eldest at 5(ausie shep mix), my beloved DK Sam 1 & 1/2 y/o and now by my DK hubbies choice and suggestion a German Shepherd pup in 2 weeks. She will 8 weeks when we get her and her name is Mandy. He thinks we need one because we live in the woods. She is adorable. She met her new family last week and was accepted without any problems. Long lost BLOGGER! Yikes!

feeling bettter

Mater seems to be feeling better. It seems that every time we check his heartbeat it is around 60-64 bpm, so hopefully that is just his normal rate. The vet hasn't suggested any further testing for now, so we'll just continue to keep an eye on him. I'm not sure why, but he does seem to be eating better the past week or so and more like his goofy old self. I almost wonder if all the rain was causing depression! (Talk about anthropomorphizing..) I Hate The Weatherman!

The weatherman said it would rain this morning but clear up this afternoon. Around noon, Yankee and I headed for the dog park. It has been raining for most of the week and we really needed to get out.

Samantha Got A Job!

Around the corner from us is a semi-private golf course. Our friends own the restaurant on the course so Samantha goes with us there to eat.

The course has lots of geese that the golfers just hate! They asked Samantha to come on over and chase them off the course. DH, Mark, took her over there earlier and she had so much fun running on the course. She listened to DD - when he called her she came running over to him.

My lazy hot dog

He and I had just come back from a 3 mile walk held locally to support a member of our church who is fighting cancer.

We Lost our Charlie

Dear Friends,

Tonight it saddens me to tell you about the loss of our dog Charlie, the party mix cocker spaniel we've had for 15 years.

We had to have Charlie euthanized. He was getting sickly with his congestive heart failure that was manageable, but then he wanted to go for a romp and was running and playing, so we took him to dad's, and there his back legs kept giving out, and he was losing his balance, and his legs would kick out suddenly behind him. Yay! She is home!!

So, Charlie got spayed yesterday. She spent one night at Dr. Sweeny's, had a breakfast with him and came home this afternoon. She seems to be in a good spirit and feeling all right.
While she was out, Dr. Sweeny put a microchip in her, plucked some hair out of her ears, and took out her loose baby tooth!
I put a small tank top her, and it fits perfect!

This Is Only a Test

My daughter, Emily is beside herself with excitement! My mother has gone out of town for the weekend and has left her standard poodle, Brulee with us.
