Our morning walk was so much fun. Lucy is learning so much from Fergie.

For everyone we talked to last night, I wanted to let you know that Mater's blood tests came back excellent. Everything looks exactly as it should. We still have some concern about the slow heartbeat. When I checked him this morning it was only about 45 bpm, much lower than the 60 bpm that is considered the low average for a dog his size. It's really hard to find his pulse, which doesn't help us. His heartbeat also seemed quite irregular, as Tom had experienced the other day when he was…

I've tossed this idea around a lot...not sure if the timing was right, etc. Was I ready? Could Clark handle it? Is there really a need for
another breeder? What generation I should I breed? You know the usual issues.
But having passed some critical milestones, I wanted to share that it's now official...
Who's ready for some photos of my new 13 week old addition?
Are you?
Totally…

Here are this weeks pictures! It's so exciting to see how much bigger they are. Each week they seem to be cuter, how can that be, they were all so cute last week!
Next week will be a huge week. They will match us with our puppy. So next week when you see a picture it will be OUR puppy.
Packing is going well. A lot of boxes have been packed with one…

Finally, our wait is over and we thank the angel that made this happen Diane Carter from Trinity Doodles. She is a blessing from above. I emailed several breeders and only a few responded to my quest for a doddle. Diane and I emailed many times then spoke on the phone. We came to an agreement that we would be guardian parents and that would work for both of us. Last Friday we went to see the doodles and we fell in love with Zara, and Diane agreed that we would be a good fit for her.. Diane's…

We visited Toka today and we just got back about an hour ago. I had to share the pictures we took because he is getting cuter by the week! Our friend Tim came with us and he fell in love with the Goldendoodles—I wouldn't be surprised if he adopts one in the next few months. Kai absolutely loved the puppies! After a few minutes of being reserved he opened up and couldn't get enough of them. He's been talking about his Toka since we left. Three more weeks and he'll be in our arms! We miss him…

About 18 months ago, I was in the market for a new vehicle. I had been driving Maximas for 15 years, and was tired of getting stuck and skidding through the Chicago winters. I wanted AWD. I started looking for a smallish, car-based SUV, otherwise known as a "crossover." I wanted a 6-cylinder engine, a sun-roof and heated seats, with good lumbar support for the driver. Because I have worked part-time for an auto-repair shop for years, I knew which makes were the most reliable. I really wanted a…

We met Toka when he was only two weeks old. Here he is in the hands of his breeder Kerry.
When I called Kerry and inquired about a Goldendoodle I explained to her what we were looking for and she picked out this little guy from the litter. We went to see him a few days later and I fell in love! He was the smallest boy with a slightly darker curly coat.…

You know, all together I have a pretty well behaved dog. I can't complain! But last night... MAN... did he make me mad!
I had a dentist appointment yesterday so I got to leave work around 2:30... well I arrived home about 30 minutes early that evening because of this. I walked in the door and could tell that Dan was still asleep since he works 3rds as a police officer. I walked into the den area where we keep Remington's crate thinking that I was going to see my beautiful boy looking…

Jess has been home one month today.
We have hit a record of so many consecutive 100 plus degree days with a promise of a “cool-down” in 90’s. This should be refreshing. My car thermostat registered 111 degrees for the outside temp yesterday afternoon. Phoebe pokes her head out the doggie door and decides to stay in. Smart dog. It's just too soon to be this hot.
Jess has been good to not go past his 48 oz liquid intake limit. This includes anything that could melt at room temp,…

While in walmart tonight I spotted a labradoodle on the Zyrtec stand in the main isle! So....I did what any good doodle nut would do and pulled out my phone to take pictures. My poor daughter was embarrassed, but she'll survive. I love spotting a doodle in public, even when it's on a sign. :o)…

I don't have long to stay on here as we're giving Atty his first bath tonight, but I wanted to come back to DK to tell you what a joy having our young Atticus is! We love every inch of his little puppy body! Sweet, smart, playful, smart, stinky, smart...Did I already say smart? ;-)
Here is a photo of him on our way home from Old Mill Doodles in Staunton, VA. :-)
We took him to the vet today and he was immediately fallen in…

Well, since Fozzy it was time for Fozzy Bear to get neutered, I decided it was also time for him to cut his first haircut. I had to drop him off before work before the groomers' was technically open. So since I was going to be late for work, I made a few instructions on a piece of paper for the groomer. I was so nervous about how he would act since he is afraid of strangers. I hoped he would be ok, because I took him there 3-4 times to meet the…

We had our Grade One Graduation on Friday night. It was a regular class, except they were marking every exercise that we did. Toby did quite well. He only got one "keep practising" and that was in the Look at Me part - he's too nosy, and didn't maintain eye contact. :)
The things we got marked on were - Meet and Greet (stay seated and calm as someone walks up to say hello, and then approach…

Lilly had a great day for a birthday..We spent most of the day outside. I had made her a cake, so my grandaughter and I put party hats on and sang Happy Birthday to her. My DH did not join in, he mumbled something about us both being "NUTS" and went to the barn to feed..Oh well, He can't sing that good anyway. :-)

So here's our story about Fenway and our processs of him adopting us as his family.
This is definitely a story of "caveat emptor" (buyer beware).
We began our hunt for our little guy about 5-6 weeks ago. We have had 2 Shih-Tzu's name Menuki and Sambuca for 13 and 12 years respectively. We had to put Menuki down about a month and a half ago. He was healthy but had 3 seizures w/in 14 hours and each one took him down more. We made the difficult decision to put him down as even if we…

This has not been a good week for Yankee and I. I'll be glad when it's over.
We just came back from the dog park. We met another owner with a doodle and talked and walked together while the dogs played on and off. The sun is shining and it is a beautiful day. We are reaching the end of our walk when a lady with two akitas or huskies (not sure) passed us going the other way. One of her dogs jumped Yankee, had him down on the ground growling and all I could hear was Yankee yelping. I…
