I did see the post just now in the discussion area. Interesting. Since I came " public" with these problems ( meaning--My dog is not perfect) so many others have written me to state they have the same problem.
So--I started the Anxiety and Mental Health Issue Group here on DK. I will place the suggestion about the pheromone collar in our groups suggestion! There seem to be a lot of us here who adopted rescues that are not developing normally with social issues and we so much want to help them. We will use all the suggestions we can get Thanks again
I love this statement your wrote about your Welly. How do you think a dog becomes this positive?
I have been told I live by the philosophy that all the world is good until proven otherwise.
My oldest doodle ( Spud ) is confident to the point of arrogance but loves and trusts everyone also.
My youngest doodle ( Starlit, 8 months --rescue at 4 months ) is petrified of the world. All is evil ( even with a treat in their hand ). Our oldest is a big help with this girl and we try to find new and creative ways to socialize and expose her to situations. Swimming and free running at parks helps her confidence--and of course provides her with exercise.
She has had obedience training and does well, although if she becomes afraid, all is out the door. Sometimes for days. On the main page today is a post from a woman with an aggressive doodle. My fear is that her fear will become aggression. Any ideas in what we can do next?
Thanks
