@Bonnie, we love our big guys too.  In fact, when we were getting ready for #2, we had our name on the list for a girl but then became concerned that she wouldn't be "big enough" so we got a second male.    We use to trip over him when he was small (30#'s).. and couldn't wait for him to get bigger.  a mini in our house would get crushed.  :-)    I've heard its difficult for dogs to lose weight - did it take a while for you to get him down to 82?

@Julie, Our "big guy" weighed 94 for awhile but the vet had us get him down to 82. Our "little one" is 66. I love the big boys! I think it is so funny when people are posting things about the minis and we are dealing with our giant dogs. It's like worlds apart.

Wow - bigger than 65# to qualify and I thought that was small.  LOL!   Boomer is 65lbs (turns 3 next month) and has held this weight since he was just over a year old.   I came to this group because of my puppy (12 months last week) weighs 75+ so I was curious to see if we could join this group but now I see BOTH dogs qualify.   We always thought Boomer was tall and "big" (but never looking overweight) but now that we have Milo, Boomer looks real thin....I'm so curious to see where Milo will end up on the height/weight charts!

Might be a good idea if you post a comment when you join a new group.  I remembered that there was a new member of Heavyweights, but as I scanned through the members, couldn't find the new person.  If you just post a comment that you are the new member of the group, then us old members can find you and send you a welcome.  The members are not in any order.

My vet says if you double the pup's weight @ 4 months, then add 5-10 lbs based on the breed of the dog, you'll get a relatively good idea of the baby's adult weight. :-) So, if your baby weighs 30 lbs @ 4 months, he'll probably weigh around 65-70 lbs full grown. :-)

Just took Cooper to get his last set of puppy shots and he weighed in at 28 lbs at 3.5 months! While that's still pretty darn big, he seems to have slowed a bit as that's only up 4 lbs in two weeks (and at one point I swear he was gaining almost a pound a day!). I was predicting 30 lbs by 4 months but he may pass that!!!

Lucy and Sophie were 23 pounds but at 4 months vs. three months.  Lucy then started to pull away from Sophie weight wise and she is now 78 pounds while Sophie is only 57 lbs.  So it will be interesting to see where you little guy ends up.  Regardless he is going to be a whole bunch of adorable.

He is a most handsome young Dood. My Paolo is 78 lb at maturity. It's like living with a giant Muppet.

Aw thanks everyone! I think he's pretty cute too :). Oh yes, 3 months, not 3 weeks! Ha, if it was 3 weeks I'd sure be in trouble. I'm guessing he may hit high 70s but I guess you never know. I'm not fussed either way (I wanted a big dog!). I'm slowly seeing him grow out of his tubby little puppy stance (though his belly still waddles a bit when he walks). So much fun watching these little guys grow up! Have a great day everyone.

Zack was born on 3/10/09. On 6/1 he was 20.4, 6/29 he was 28.0, 8/6 37.0, 3/26 75.0, 9/2 81.6 and today 91.0. We were told between 50 and 60. He is so gentle I love his size
