Connor my F1 goldendoodle is 3 yrs old, 26 1/2" tall and weighs 76 lbs. He's a leggy boy. :-)
The largest goldendoodle I've known is a dog Connor fostered with - he weighs in about 110, I think, and looks slender as can be. A VERY big boy!
It is so amazing to me the importance that many people place on the dog's size. A good number of doodles are relinquished to rescues and posted on Craig's List for the reason "He got too big". And you would be surprised at the number of adopters whose main concern is howbig the dog might get to be. I just don't get it. What difference is there, really, in having a 50 lb dog or a 60 lb dog? Or a 65 lb dog and an 85 lb dog? Unless the dog is so enormous that he can't fit through the door, what's the big deal? If you "don't have room" for an 80 lb dog, do you really have room for a 60 lb dog? And a 30 lb dog can knock over a toddler just as easily as an 80 lber.
In my book the bigger the better when it comes to doodles. I keep weighing Quincy hoping we would make the heavyweights, we just made it at 2 years old and 65.2 pounds. I was hoping he would be bigger. Most people seem to think he is a big dog now and think I am a little nuts to want him bigger.
