Jen...this is exactly what Monty does, but Mackenzie doesn't take it this well! :) Of course she is 9 years old and not quite this tolerant. None of my Goldens ever did this, so it is a new experience! Must be a Doodle thing. What goofy dogs! Gotta love them.
How much does Axel weigh? He is beautiful!
How funny, Debi. I'm sure he will mellow out with age, and start to realize how big he is. Make sure to let the grandkids know not to yell around him, that just gets him more excited. My friends were over yesterday with their small doodle and he would walk underneath Groucho. It was so funny to watch.
But Lynda...he absolutely bugs her to death sometimes. He will sit on her...paw at her when she is trying to rest and run full force into her while running in the backyard. He has also been known to jump over her in the yard. There is nothing gentle about this one. He is like a tank. Ha ha! I don't think he knows just how big he is...but we sure love him! We are hoping that with age...he will mellow out, however. Either that or my grandkids are going to have to grow quickly to be able to handle him. He is a mess! :)
Naw. Not really, Debi. The big guys are sometimes the most gentle ones. It is the little ones who think they need to prove themselves.
Monty Moose just turned 8 1/2 months old and weighs in at a solid 68 lbs. He has now surpassed his Golden sister in height and weight. She is in REAL trouble now!
Karina and Billy - Yes, my doodle was about 90 pounds but is now down to 85 lbs. and maybe even a little less now. He is very active and likes chasing my husband on his bike. They really like to be out every day - walking or bike chasing. We have bike tow leashes (BTLs) and sometimes go for a "family ride".
Doc and Bailey are right there. I'm sure they will be right up with Finley by the time they are a year old. Enjoy!
Oh Finley is beautiful! A year old next week! Have a wonderful celebration and our pooches just love Frosty Paws. He doesn't look at all fat, but you might want to start cutting back on the food soon. My 85-pound doodle (7 years old) eats about 3 cups a day. You want to keep them on the slender side.
