We saw Dr. Macy last week and Rusty's liver enzymes are now within the upper limits of where they should be and his vomiting seems to be under control, which may have been from the elevated liver enzymes. Rusty has developed severe diarrhea and is not responding to any of the meds; Dr. Macy was concerned that the cancer may have returned and wanted to send us to San Diego for ultrasound scans. His office called this week and the Dr.…

So Harley's daddy came and took him home! I had him all pretty and trimmed. His ears were clean. His nails were done. He was well fed and watered. He actually gained weight while he was here! With all the playing he seemed alot thinner but I think he got taller. We showed off his new tricks. Explained why we had to take him to the vet....and explained why I NOTICED his penis…

Tomorrow marks our two year doodleversary. It's hard to believe it's been two years since Quincydoodle came into our lives, the time has gone by so fast. It took me two years of research and showing DH millions of cute puppy pictures to finally get him to agree to getting a dog. I wanted a big dog that was low shedding and that led me to the goldendoodle. From the day he came home we were hooked, so much so that DH keeps talking about getting another one. Quincy has bought so much joy to our…

The second week was good, and challenging. Bernie's heeling has gotten SO much better. I can't believe it, he never pulls anymore. He's like a different dog. But we can't stop there!
The second week we worked on the 'proper heel' - which means Bernie's snout was in line with our knees, give or take an inch, but not more than that. That part was tougher, partly because we were so thrilled he was heeling in general, but we got ourselves in shape and stuck to it. In addition to the…

We were all so excited and pleased at the Wonderful turnout we had at our Annual Vegas Romp this year. Prayers were heard for the weather to hold off until the afternoon, and the weather was perfect! For the last 6 weeks a group of us have been sewing bandanas and blankets and getting raffle baskets together. It was the…

So poor Lola is home safe. She actually got back several hours ago (was only at the vet's for a couple of hours), but I unfortunately had to work out of town until early afternoon. Hubby was home to get her though....and it's been a rough day since. Lola refused to sleep even though she was really groggy and unbalanced and clumsy (ran into a couple of walls!!!)...so she insisted on pacing around the house whining all day. I cuddled her (and whispered sweet nothings lol), and tried taking her…

Recently, I did a blog on our rescue dog, Honey, but I feel like I have to give equal time to our wonderful dog, Hershey. My oldest daughter came out of the womb chanting the word dog. We lived in an apartment many years before we could afford our own home and I always told my oldest that as soon as we got our house, she could have a dog. Rule #1: Kids never forget. As soon as we got our house, she started hounding (no pun intended) us for that dog. Of course, she…

So the last few days, I've been pressing the snooze button on days when I have to leave early-I guess I learned my lesson today...Myla sleeps in my bed after DH lets her out before he leaves in the morning, Chloe likes to go to her crate for some extra zz's until I get up. The alarm went off and I place it far away so I have to get up to shut it off or snooze it. Well, I was pretty out of it today and decided I…

So poor Lola has had a yeast AND bacterial ear infection for over a month now. We've been cleaning, medicating with a total of three different drops, changed her food (to Orijen!)...and after a rather traumatizing trip to the vet this morning, we've found out she as to go in tomorrow morning to get her ear flushed...and SEDATED!!! Hubby and I almost broke out into tears imagining our poor gorgeous girl being sedated. Just needed to vent a little...hope things go well tomorrow.....

Sweet Ruby Foster Doodle went to her forever family this weekend! Ruby is such a good girl and her new family is absolutely thrilled with her. They are getting the first hand experience of how being ill-treated for the first three years of her life is NOT going to get Miz Ruby down! She has way too much goodness and love in her for that! So please, join me in wishing Ruby and her new family, the Walkers, every happiness in the world!
Another dog was available for fostering,…

I know its been a big topic of discussion on how safe the airlines are to ship dogs and puppies. I am a corporate travel agent so I see all kinds of airline info come across my email. This one caught my eye today... I am wondering when they will add more breeds, etc.... its an interesting move on Delta's part just banning bulldogs but I can see why....

Greetings goldendoodle and labradoodle owners! I haven't posted in a while. Anyway, I bet the real reason you are reading my blog is not to hear me talk about how many times I post, but you are here to hear about Tucker, my goldendoodle! If you read my blog, you have probably heard about Doggy Day Care. Well, my mom had a buisness trip for her work (how fun!) and had to leave for two days. Well, the day before mom had to go on her boring trip, she dropped Tucker off at daycare... and he…
