As some of you may know I originally got my Murphy so that he would be my running companion. And I did everything the books and my breeder told me in regards to preparing him. Hey everybody...Rua here.  I am SOOO excited.  Today it is all about Momma & Me (ok, so most days it is like that, but this is really special). 

First, we are going to go Three Dog Bakery & Spa so Momma can look for a new pretty pink sparklie collar for ME!!!!  I just LOVE pink and Momma has been on the search for just the right collar.  It has to be 3/4" to 1" wide (difficult to find for a small) and have rhinestones or Swarovski crystals!

Yesterday, in the POURING down rain, I took Vern to be groomed. I like to have the dogs groomed on separate days, so I can spend individual time with the other. Spring time is here and it is starting to heat up a bit.  Also, arriving with Spring are the Fox Tails.  Because of the excessive rains we have had this year, we are in for a really bad Fox Tail season.  The vet has already been swarmed with dogs coming in for removals.  So, since Gracie Doodle is heading back up to the scene of the crime (where she got two Fox Tails in her paw and had to have two surgeries), I decided to give her a huge clipping.  Actually, we think she looks rather cute. …

DH and I both work for a holistic pet food and supply company. They have 8 stores in the Lower Mainland (west coas, Canada). We work at different locations, but Cooper is a frequent visitor to both. Today is my day off, but DH is working the late shift, so after a lazy morning I offer to drive him there. Cooper of course tags along, she loves car rides! I am reading the book Water for Elephants and despite the fact that some of the treatment of animals in the book is hard to read about, I really like the book.  For a long time I have considered writing a blog about volunteering at an Assisted Living Facility, and I love the descriptions in this book about how it feels to get old. Owen will be 8 months old on Monday and we are noticing that, while he is still very much a puppy, we are not as overwhelmed by his naughtiness as we had been. This improvement in his behavior started the day we went to his obedience class orientation. hahaha. He is learning new things in his obedience class and getting lots of praise from the instructor. For the last year, she's had three occurrences of sebaceous cysts.  We've learned to live with them and are always on the lookout for more.

Three days ago, I felt a bump on her chest.  Must be a cyst, I thought.  Started rubbing it, hoping it would pop.  No such luck.  Then, Penny started licking at it.  NOT. GOOD.

My Bella has come along nicely in all areas except in her mouthing and chewings. Her obsession with socks however is just gone to new heights.  We are very careful of where we put our socks, however, it seems that baby socks are just too tempting, no matter where they are. If Bella-B can reach a shelf or clothes hamper and there are baby socks nearby, she quickly devours them ASAP. Before anyone even notices.

It has become our routine now to keep checking her poop to make sure…
