It has been exactly 1 week since the big "Fry", got my computer today, delivered by Fed Ex - no monitor, no printer yet but what matters is I CAN BE ON DK again.

It is amazing all that I have missed. I mean seriously, I have jumped on at work but can't really contribute nor can I stay on for any length of time.

Lately, I have found that I am becoming increasingly resentful of a kitchen appliance and the drink that it produces.

For years now, I have had a love/hate relationship with coffee. Mostly, I hate coffee, but love some people who drink the stuff.   In my lifetime, I have known many coffee drinkers and actually was raised by two pros. Well it's been a week and a day since Cooper came home and I have to say that it's been a pretty great week! I think I was bracing myself for the worst based on all that 'good luck sleeing' and 'I hope he doesn't ruin your floors' I was getting from people leading up to his arrival. Yesterday was a red letter day for Lilly. She got to have a playdate with her brother, Peanut.  Madeline and Peanut and family live in Omaha (about 70 miles from Brownville, NE) and we were able to spend the afternoon with them.

Wanted to say hello to everybody on this website!!! I have loved reading everybodys posts and looking at your beautiful doodles!! My boyfriend and I are eagerly waiting to pick up Riley on Thursday. I consider DK my extended family and have had so much fun getting to know people.  This morning I discovered my status changed to HOPELESS DOODLE ADDICT.  Seriously though, I had no idea and a little embarrassed to admit it.  Okay, maybe not so much.  What a great way to start the day!

I was thinking today about the differences in my two dogs and how they remind me of my two daughters, especially in how they sleep. Fudge is my dog that likes her sleep. I really think she would be content to sleep all day and she would never get up early. She reminds me of my oldest daughter.  It used to drive me nuts when my daughter had to be up at a certain time, because she would set her alarm clock and when it went off at the designated time, proceed to hit her snooze button…

We celebrated Rusty's 3rd birthday last Friday the 5th; Dr. Macy was not in town on Rusty's actual date, July 30th, and he wanted to attend the party.  Dr. Huber and Dr. Yee were also attended the party; Dr. Huber performed Rusty's amputation. Several of Rusty's dog owner parents also helped him celebrate his special day.  Jan decorated the dining tables in a doggy theme and made cupcakes with dog picks & liners.  We ordered a new bandanna for his party and he received…

So last night went really well. Cooper spent his first night in his 'big boy' crate on the floor and slept through the night again with no accidents which makes mommy really happy. Today, however, was a different story. He peed in the house TWICE and it didn't make much sense. Both times he had been out about an hour before.... I didn't make a fuss and just cleaned it up and made sure to keep taking him out regularly but it did seem a bit odd.... two steps forward, one step back I guess!…

Lilly is feeling quite comfortable at home. She takes her toys out of the toy box and like my children, never puts them back. She has discovered the poochie bells and can ring it herself. It is very exciting.. two grown people jump out of their chairs/ stop whatever they are doing and let her outside.  She picks up leaves/ twigs/ looks for bugs and by accident goes potty and then whichever parent is out in the yard with her makes a big deal out of it.. like man landing on the moon big deal.…

Happy Birthday to Buddy :P  He turned 6 years old today, WOW, I know everyone always says time flies, but 6? Really?
