I died today. You got tired of me and took me to the shelter. They were overcrowded and I drew an unlucky number. I am in a black plastic bag in a freezer now. Some other puppy will get the barely used leash you left. My collar was dirty and too small, but the lady took it off before she sent me to the Rainbow Bridge .
Would I still be at home if I hadn’t chewed your shoe? I didn’t know what it was, but it was leather, and it was on the floor. I was just…

I will post pictures here when I am all done grooming Lyric with her Mommy cut, but you won't believe how big she is! Yikes! She looks like a big pink balloon with her hair shaved down on her belly. We do X rays next Thursday so we will have a count then, but I am guessing 7 or 8 pups. You can feel them moving around in there now.
She is sleepy most of the time now and when she does hear something and starts to bark and run, she quickly stops and seems to say "ugh--what was i…

Murphy and I are heading to the LSU vet school tomorrow for his radiation treatment. Since he will be sedated, I hope they can staple his leg back together. He has made such a mess of it.
Will let everyone know tomorrow.

First, let me start off by saying, I love television. I know some people think it is mindless entertainment and prefer other forms of more intellectual stimulation, but I am not one of those people. Show me the new fall line-up and I experience something akin to pure euphoria. I have lots of members in my family who feel the same, and I guarantee you if they measured IQ with TV trivia questions, we could hold our next family reunion at a Mensa convention. I…

We boarded Cubbie and Ollie this past weekend so that we could attend my brother’s wedding. The place we decided to use is the doggie daycare just a few miles from our home. We take the dogs there sometimes to play and decided to board them there because it was convenient (although I don’t like the fact that the dogs are crated at night and left alone – no employee supervision). When we picked them up, I asked how Cubbie had done with the crate since he…

Ok started preparing my freezer for when I start classes again. I cook and freeze various family meals. Lasagnas, Chicken Parm, Cannelloni, Monicotti. I place the frozen meal in the oven frozen in the morning, set the delay start on oven, by the time cooking starts the meal is already defrosted. As my family comes home from school, work dinner is cooking. It makes me feel less guilty about not being home knowing that they are still eating a home cooked meal.
I have recently shared…

Well, the last week or so has been a whirlwind of activity. I ran a 5km race for charity, walked in the wiggle waggle walk-a-thon with Sophie, celebrated my dad's 70th birthday, (finally) picked up my brand new car, and rescued a doodle.
So I bet your just dying to hear all about my new car. Well, it's shiny blue, it has four doors and a hatch, a zippy engine, four wheels, a steering wheel ... What's that you say???? You're more interested in the doodle?? Well alright FINE…

Lots of times here on DoodleKisses, I see members ask if they should stop crating their dogs at night. Many of those times, the dog is happy in the crate and it is the human who misses the doggie snuggling at night. Take my word for it, let sleeping dogs lie IN their crates.
In the summer, Fudge and Vern get too hot on any bed and prefer to sleep on the cold, hard floor. They might start up here on our bed for a little bit, but usually when my husband…

This really has nothing to do with Doodlers, other than to mention that my 2 darlings are the best therapy dogs!
I have been having quite a time with low back pain and recently had an MRI. I have 4 disc areas that are effected and 2 are pretty bad, compressing the sciatic nerve. I am flying to Scottsdale AZ with my husband on Wed., to go to the Laser Spine Institute for minimally invasive surgery. They have been very professional and offer a procedure that seems very reasonable to…

Chewie's dad (my husband) was entered in the Queen's Cup Hua Hin International Triathlon in August 2011.
Hua Hin is a sea-side town about 2.5 hours drive south from Bangkok.
I found a dog-friendly hotel in Hua Hin and took Chewie along to support his daddy.
The triathlon involves a 1.5km swim, 45km bike ride and a 10km run.
Here's Chewie…

Ted has extended his repertoire. He can now get the bread bin off the work top, he can get the lid off - I need 2 hands to do it, and of course empty it!
I came home at lunch time to find half a loaf of bread gone and the new loaf buried in the sofa.

Miley is really starting to make progress. We have been using a 25 ft lead outside. Miley will now stop for you to pick it up, instead of running the other direction. Once you have the lead in hand she will start walking toward you. Miley will walk along with you loose leashed, instead of pulling away from you. If Miley thinks we're going inside she will pull going toward the house. If you are sitting on the steps outside or in the grass she will come up to you on her own, sniff, touch…

I was in the garden the other day and in an unused section I discovered a strange plant. At first I thought it was a weed but upon investigation discovered it to be a very familiar plant that had flowered. As you can see, Tara was none too happy to have her picture taken with it, but that does not mean that this is an unpleasant plant-just a grumpy doodle!!! This is a plant that you are all very familiar with but probably not in this stage of development. Now hopefully I am not the only…

Please don't forget us! Don't hang our names up in the Doodle Kisses Members' MISSING Section - with the caption.... have you seen 'these two'...I'm afraid we may show up on the back of a Nyla-bone or Kong package in Petsmart soon.... but, as one of my (used to be favorite) actors said, "I'll be…
