‘Twas the night before Christmas, and Mom’s making strudel
all the creatures were stirring, to include us two doodles.
Our gifts were placed under our tree with much care,
to include our “BARK BOX” which had finally gotten here!…
Leo was…

Just wanted to share what's been happening in our world! We've had a deposit on a pup from Jack's parents final litter, due in Spring. She was due to get pregnant in October, she's late and we were still waiting! In the meantime, our breeder kept a little green eyed chocolate girl she was considering breeding, but decided to keep females from a couple of retiring moms instead. So this little 4 month old is available. She is Jack's cousin, their moms share the same mother. We decided to take…

We convene a family literacy program at the Brooklyn Family Justice Center which is funded by the Brooke Jackman Foundation in honor of a young woman, Brooke Jackman, who perished at the age of 23, during the attacks on 911. Brooke wanted to be a social worker, and help children. Brooke loved to read, and felt all children should be provided with the opportunity to learn to read. Towards that end, and to honor Brooke's memory, her family set up a foundation which now funds family literacy…

Hey, It’s me – Harley…
We took a trip a few days ago…
DM (Doodle Mom) and our DS (Doodle Sister) rode with us. Not the best idea Mom had because “big sis” wasn’t…

We have a Maltese who has had lose stool lately and a persimmon tree that has dropped some fruit.
We didn't connect the two until we saw the little white dog eating a persimmon which was on the ground. Previous to this, we thought that the persimmons on the ground were gnawed on by rodents or birds.
Holly could have produced a BIG MESS had she eaten the persimmons.

It seems like every year the month of December flies by in a whirl. I always have high hopes that I am going to enjoy a Christmas movie every day and we are going to drive around and look at lights. It never happens. Usually, I am so busy trying to get everything done that I am cross and irritated. Last night I yelled at Fudge and Vern because they were in my way as I was trying to frantically finish some last minute wrapping for gifts I need to distribute today. Do you think Santa…

Unfortunately, the Milt will not be spending Christmas with his Momma and Daddy. Little does he know, but on Friday morning we are shipping him off to his Grandmother's house in Louisiana! Although I am feeling the separation anxiety, I think little Milton will be absolutely thrilled! Of course, I am sending along his Christmas presents. …

When I think about the loss of my Shadow (named because she was ALWAYS following me or with me at home) and the things she loved (playing ball at the park for one)...one ofthe things that haunts me is the fact that she died alone at the vet's while I was on vacation. Now I know the loss of a pet is NOTHING compared to the loss of a child...and I don't mean to minimize the trama that the famlies in Connecticut are suffering...but my heart…

Feel like you need to get outside and enjoy your Doodle. Well sometimes you just have to get them out and running up and down the beach is a fabulous way to let them burn off that access Doodle energy! Doodles love the beach! They just love romping around in the sand, digging in the sand, making new friends, they just feel so free there. There are some fabulous dog beaches in Florida where you can bring the dogs off leash but you must follow their rules posted. Most dog beaches are not long…

Today was a very special day - Charlie turned 2! We had a wonderful day and played all his favorite games. Then we had a special treat - an ice cream cookie made just for birthday boy! We are so tired and we were just going to settle down for bed, when I thought OMD - I forgot to post on DK.
Here is a pic I took just before we sent to the doggy store for our birthday cookie!…

I don't know if any of you are familiar with "The Onion" but it's a hilarious satirical news site that I enjoy following. I came across this article randomly today and it was pretty good, thought I would share. :-)

As many of you know I have a wonderful, NOT PHOTOSHOPPED, picture of me in an orange bikini. Sure, I was struggling with some facial hair issues at the time the picture was snapped, but those have now been resolved with the correct hormone medication.
I also posted that I joined a gym and my trainer is a huge fan of burpees and those burpees are helping me maintain the…

My goodness! What an insanely busy season! Can you believe that Christmas is only 7 days away? It really sneaked up on me this year -- partly because my doodle Copernicus was doing his best to sabotage Hanukkah and partly because I was painting up a storm...
This month, I was lucky enough to paint three different doodles! Hope you don't mind if I…

December has been full of anticipation as Milton and I eagerly await all of our doodle holiday cards arriving in the mail! So far in our doodle card exchange, we have received 36 cards out of the 49 total we are due to expect. Cards have arrived from across the United States - Alabama, California, New Jersey, South Carolina, and many more; we are creating a doodle network! The cards are cute and interesting because oftentimes the proud owners will state their doodle's or doodles' type and…

I found brand new Les Poochs Purple Wide Brushes on ebay and purchased two of them to groom Stewie because I heard they were great brushes. I received them today and WOW They make a huge difference... love them! I also bought a Chris Christensen A5 V Slicker Brush for the small areas/sensitive areas. I received all of them today and brushed him out. He turned into a huge cotton ball so I had to spritz him with water to get his curly dread locks back... ha! Love my Stewie's curls. I…

I brought Traveler home on Christmas Eve day, 2009. It was serendipity–when I woke up that morning I didn’t know that by nightfall I’d be under new management--by a puppy! I’d been checking doodle websites for months, and that morning found what sounded like the perfect breeder just 15 miles from my house, and she happened to have three adorable, chocolate, eight-week-old puppies! The more I read, the more excited I got. Everything sounded perfect–the puppies were raised in her home,…

Our little doodle family is officially moved in! It is hard to believe but after weeks of packing, painting, and about eight solid hours of moving on Saturday, we are here. The house is beginning to come together, especially now that our furniture has arrived, but we still have a laundry list of items to tackle - paint three more rooms, fix the fence and gate, paint the trim outside (not in the too near future!), and so on and so forth. Regardless, it feels very good to be "home" for the…

I am a doodle lover and I do love Skylar, my Doodle best of all. She is cute, funny, smart and great with the kids now. She is s good traveler. 500 miles each way with one hotel stay in Albany NY at a suite in a Hampton Inn and a ferry ride to and from Long Island for Thanksgiving.
She got along great with our friends family dog a German Shepard for 5 days and loved the beach / Long Island Sound. But maybe she seemed to get along with that German Shepard too well.
When we got…

I didn’t sleep well Friday night and neither did my husband. We talked about it Saturday morning and knew it was because we had listened to the news about the school shootings for most of the night. Every one of these recent shootings has been hard to hear about and almost impossible for us to wrap our heads around these senseless killings. Sometimes when you hear about stuff like this in the news it seems so far away and you can convince yourself that you are safe where you live. …
