Furniture..

Ok, so I'm not really sure what to do about my lovely Daffney scratching and trying to rip up the furniture... She has been attacking my mom's big chair (which was sorta expensive) and finally got a foot long strip off of it..Dad ended up covering it with a blanket, but I still would like an idea or something..

Does anyone have any ideas on how to stop it?
Besides crating.
and Besides the sour apple spray (doesn't work).

Please and Thank you.

The Bad Doodle (and daughter) ... a year later.

I haven't posted to my blog since January 2009. No worries- it appears my 10 year old daughter has kept doodle lovers across the country updated on our latest doodle exploits. A good parent would know when their daughter is on-line and approve the posts, a mediocre parent would not admit they had no idea their daughter was "blogging" behind their back. Me - so busted. I had no clue. I should probably check my FaceBook page after this. Yeeeessssshhhhh.

So, I see you heard about the… Continue

The mud puddle...

It is Becky's daughter again. Let me tell you the story of Tucker and the mud puddle. Well, I was with him in Bryan Park and we were taking a little stroll. I kept him off of the leash because I occasionally threw his ball. It rained over night and there was a monsterous mud puddle on the ground. Tucker, who was so hot and thirsty, had a mischevious look in his eye. First, he walked over and sniffed the mud puddle. Then, he had a refreshing drink. Thirdly, he started batting the water with his… Continue

OT -- Bo the White House PWD

I realize he isn't a Doodle, but did anyone see Bo on the White House Christmas special last night? He is so adorable ..... looks like he has a Tuxcedo on! And, he was very well behaved and looked really really happy and joyful to be around! At that age, my girls (even with all the training they had) would have been a nightmare!

How things have changed

I've never written a blog before.....but Matt and I were talking last night about how Holly has really become a great dog, and I just wanted to write about it. There were so many days in the first few months where I felt regretful about getting her and frustrated with all of her behaviors. I didn't feel like she respected me or Matt and she definitely didn't act like she liked us. We both felt so lost and it was hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Now things have done a… Continue

Zoe's training update

My training is going pretty well. I have a few accidents cuz mom gets preocupied! She bought some bells and hung them on the door, now I just hit them so she knows I am waiting. One time, I actually brought her the bell. She got scared and removed all the lower bells. I knew she ws upset, so i bring her an outside shoe to let her know she has to hurry!

we learned some important stuff this week too! I potty on command, I can sit, fetch, bring it here (except when my sister is around).… Continue

Thanks for cards and photos!

Wow - I can't thank everyone enough for sharing their photos, cards, and experiences with us. There is so much going on with DoodleKisses that I can't keep up. This has been such a joy this season to be included in all the good things that happen with this site. I feel like a little kid again, just waiting for another doodle friend card. Thanks to everyone. I really enjoy this site.

Feelin Guilty.....HELP!

I have a 13 month old GoldenDoodle. She's my princess! However, it has gotten to the point, where I have to crate her again. For the first six or seven months, I put her in her crate when I left for work, then I slowly allowed her to have run of the house. Since then, my carpet has become a chew toy and now that the Christmas Tree is up, the ornaments have become a new item of interest.

I hate doing it, but for her own safety and to take back my home, I have to begin crating her… Continue

Naughty Doodle Day

I do not know what got into Callie yesterday, but she out did herself in naughtiness. I haven't seen her so ill-behaved since the first week that I had her, before school and her learning all the "rules". It started Saturday morning...I woke up and the Callinator was laying at the foot of my bed, gnawing on my book. Not so good. We move on from that and I bundle up for our traditional long saturday morning walk. That starts out fine, until Callie decided it would be a WAY better idea to pee on… Continue

Doodles = Friends

Yvonne N had posted on my page after Mater's TV spot so, as I'm sure we all do, I went to her page to see more of her doodle. While there I read her Nov 30 blog about "no personality=no doodles" and some of the many comments. I had to laugh as a few were really funny!

But then it struck me just how much we ARE a community! Our doodles do bring us together and create a true bond. I was thinking that we could probably even post on DoodleKisses where we were headed on vacations and we'd… Continue

Weigh In Day for Harlow and F. Jax

Today I took both Harlow and Jax to Petsmart to see how much they weigh. Harlow has picked up another 2 pounds (47 pounds). When we pulled Jax on 11/21 he weighed 41.5 pounds now he weighs 45.5. He has picked up 4 pounds in 3 weeks. He is beginning to build up the muscles in his legs and building stamina running with the others in the back yard. He still can't run and play as long as the others. This Thursday, 12/17, Jax travels to his forever home with a nice couple in Virginia. We are going… Continue

Doggy Door Surprises

DK members have said they have not gotten surprise visitors with doggy doors (door flaps) .This is an e mail I just received from a friend.....

"Could you imagine coming home from work

to find this tiny creature napping on your

couch with your dog?

Guess who came home for dinner?

It followed this beagle home, right through

the doggy door. This… Continue

Not a lost cause after all!

I just have to say that I am finally getting to SEE the reasons we got a doodle, in Piper! He is now 14 weeks, and the first month I had wondered if we had a made a mistake. But as of the last 2 weeks, something just seemed to click with him! He is actually getting along with our daughter and not using her for a chew toy, not ripping all of our clothes and overall being a wonderful amazing little guy! I can't tell you how happy this makes me! I know we will still have many more crazy dog days,… Continue

First "blizzard" of 2009

Well, this is Daisy and Hunter's first experience with snow and it came in the form of a blizzard! They didn't know what to make of it at first, but now they absolutley LOVE it! The only problem I'm having is that the clumps of snow are not only between the pads of their feet, but also the feathering on the bottom of their legs. They want to play with the towel more than let me get the clumps off! It became a "team effort" on Hunter - while I was getting the snow off his back legs, he and Daisy… Continue
