Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
This leash is great when walking two dogs, especially two doodle size dogs. I can adjust the leash ends so obe side is longer than the other. This is handy since Holly is considerably talller than Sophie. I can also adjust the leash so the dogs can walk a couple of feet apart or closer together which might be handy for navigating in crowds with a pair of dogs.

Judy and I picked up Chloe from Katie at the Hesperia, California (High Desert above San Bernardino) Shelter today. Katie, who works at the shelter, had brought Chloe home after she was dumped at the shelter with her undernourished siblings who unfortunately did not survive. Anyway, Katie nursed Chloe and our new foster weighs 8.2 pounds at 10 weeks. She needs to put on some weight but, we will take care of that.
We switched her name to Zoe since it became confusing…

Judy and I are expecting to foster a female doodle puppy from the shelter in Hesperia, California. We are looking forward to having this darling dog stay with us. We know that Holly will enjoy having a doodle puppy around the house as she loves the Maltese puppies.
BTW, Judy has just been elected as National Co-Chairperson of the American…

We are fostering Sophie who is a beautiful, well-trained and loving labradoodle who will not turn four years old until near the end of July. Sophie developed bladder stones and her owners dropped her off at a vet and told him to put her down because they dis not want to pay for her surgery. Doodle rescue Consortium, Inc. paid for the surgery and we are fostering this darling girl until she is well enough to go to her "furever" home.…

I can't foster or adopt a doodle because I have four resident Maltese plus five foster Maltese along with our Goldendoodle Holly.
However, I am driving up to Hesperia, CA (north of San Bernardino) to pick up a rescue doodle from the dog shelter there and deliver her to a foster home in Orange County, CA.
Watch out Richard, you don't want to fall in love with this doodle! As the old saying goes, "If you visit the bicycle shop enough times, you will eventually…

Kobe a 5 pound Maltese and English Cocker Spaniel cross is a rescue puppy born from a Maltese mom who was found pregnant wandering the streets of a local city. Holly is, of course, our 55-pound, 3-year old, Goldendoodle who just loves our rescue puppies and is very gentle with them.
Kobe left today with his new family for his forever home and I wanted to document how well Holly and Kobe play together.
I did not know how to post this Youtube video on the video…

We attended an all day long dog rescue event on Sunday, February 13th so Judy said she was really too tired to go out to a restaurant for Valentine's Day supper on Monday. Instead, I bought her some potted tulips (which we will replant in our garden) and cooked her supper. We sat down to eat in the living room (because we wanted to watch the Westminster Dog Show) and Judy had a glass of wine on the table next to her chair - just at the right height for Holly's tail. The tail wagged as it…

All doodle owners seem fortunate that our doodles don't usually have a doggy odor and Holly is certainly free of such smells; except when we were visiting Texas and she rolled in deer poop on my sister-in-law's front lawn. She was covered in a green smelly slime. But, that's another story.
We usually send Holly to the doggy beauty parlor every couple of months and during the summer never have to bathe her between visits because she is in and out of our pool every day and a…

We lost our big yellow tabby cat, Felix, a few years ago to cancer. He was Holly's best buddy and they would play for hours. We really had no intention of replacing Felix but, we visited a cat show in San Diego this weekend, just to look at the various breeds of cats for fun and education.
We saw a kitten that we almost adopted. He was half Maine Coon and half Norwegian Forest Cat and was a beauty with a white face, dark tabby back and a wonderful personality. He was also…

Our friend has a darling little Maltese male that she has sold to a lady in upstate New York. Judy and I have the puppy now and are training it to use pee-pee pads. The lady was going to fly to San Diego from New York to pick up the puppy but. her mom is not feeling well and she cannot make the trip.
The lady is quite wealthy and owns a horse farm in upstate New York. She offered me first class airline tickets plus two days in a New York City hotel if I would fly the puppy…

Our Holly wishes Fudge a very happy birthday. Holly is three years old today. Holly got her name because she was born on Christmas Day... We wanted to call her Noel but, you can't tell a dog, "No, Noel!". For
about the first year, Holly thought that her name was "No Holly!".
She is now the most wonderful and loving and well behaved dog we would ever want...

SEASONAL GREETING
I wanted to send some sort of greeting to my friends and
colleagues, but it is difficult in today's world to know exactly what to
say without offending someone. So I met with my lawyer yesterday, and on
advice I wish to say the following :
Please accept with no obligation , implied or implicit , my best wishes
for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low stress, non
addictive, gender neutral celebration of the summer…

Holly hasn't been getting as much exercise as she usually gets running around our big yard. It has been raining constantly since Friday and this is unusual here in San Diego County, California. I don't know how much rain we have received but, we have emptied Holly's outdoor water bowl at least once and it is almost filled up again. The bowl is about 8 inches deep. We live 1,500 feet above sea level and, while that isn't very high in comparison with some areas,…

Angelina, one of the female Maltese we fostered from the horrible puppy mill in Oregon had been adopted several months ago. She and her buddy, another rescue Maltese (not our rescue) named Rocco, came to stay with us for a week while their mom was out of town on business...
Both Angelina and, especially Rocco, thoroughly enjoyed playing with Holly and she enjoyed them. Rocco is a very energetic and playful dog while Angelina is more sedate. Rocco would roam our yard following…

I just got a sneak peak at the cover for the 2011 Maltese Rescue Calendar - the theme is "Puppies Born into Freedom". These are all my pictures and all the puppies were born in our home after their mothers were rescued, pregnant from deplorable conditions in puppy mills. We have had over twenty puppies born into our home this year and just had another born yesterday. We have placed all the pups, and most of the mothers, along with a couple of adult males into "furever homes". The total…

Happy Thinksgiving Everybody...
I have so much to be thankful for that I cannot even begin to make a list of those things of which I am thankful. Good health, a terrific wife, a great family, fine friends and a wonderful relationship with our Goldendoodle Holly and the Maltese we own and those that we have been fortunate to have the ability to rescue.
I don't just think of what I am thankful for on Thanksgiving Day; I am always, during the other 364 days of the…

When I post our rescue Maltese on www.petfinder.com (BTW: We have so far placed 15 out of the 17 puppies we had and 4 out of the 7 adults) I often look at the poodle, golden retriever and Labrador listings for a friend who has stated that he is interested in a doodle.
I found a bevy of wonderful dogs that are at www.gentlegiantsrescue.com of Norco in Southern California. These magnificent…
