I took my daughter to PetCo to buy the doodles some new rubber balls. They really love the Chuk-it orange fuzz-less 'tennis' balls that last forever -- truly! The only reason we were out of them is because they miraculously disappear after a while.
Well needless to say the doods have been in heaven since late last week. I knew they'd be excited, but that's ALL they do when they get outside: Rosco lays down and chews his ball like a giant wad of gum and Boca (if she's not…

I live in an apartment building where there are many other dogs and we interact with them regularly. There are a lot of interesting characters, (furry and human), like the little shi tzu who's fur is so long it drags on the floor and you can't tell his face from his bum (no wonder he barks all the time and pees on the steps, he can't see a thing!!). Anyway, I love greeting all the dogs as we come and go and so does Sophie.
Well, there is this one dog that has a big problem.…

Ok, so it seems like it's been FOREVER since I've been on DK and talked to so many of my sweet friends on this site. So much has happened in the past year. Last April 27 our new doodle Riley was born. He is the sweetest boy and loves loves loves attention and food. He will eat anything and he will sit and stare at you for hours until you pet him. Needless to say we are totally in love with him. Timbow is so happy to have a little brother!

I have to vent a little about a woman I ran into at a local specialty pet store. I love the store, they carry really great stuff and have a lovely dog treat "salad bar" where you can mix and match and pay by the lb. - and all the ingredients and nutritional information is available. Such a great deal!
Anyhow, a woman came in with her dog and wanted them to say hi, totally fine. We made them both sit and behave before allowing a sniff. There was sniffing, there was a little playing, it…

We recently let our doodles free in the house and when we leave and drive past the house, they are on the back of the couch in the window watching for our car. I often wondered what they did once we turned the corner...for the most part I found out they don't touch their toys-Chloe just sits in the window and waits for us sometimes falls asleep on the back of the couch-she has great balance. Myla is a little more restless, she's up and down off the couch goes to the door and cries and then…

I just can't believe that my Gracie Doodle has been in my life for 4 years. It is like she has always been there. She is my best friend! I am going through some hard times right now and she always knows when I need an extra kiss or hug. She is by my side when she knows I am sad and she understands when there are days where I am gone all day and can't get to walk her. Gracie makes me a better person every day that we are together. I just can't imagine my life without her. Happy…

Today I started watching a six week old baby, a friend of mines baby. I was pretty nervous about how Jack would be with the baby since he likes to be the center of attention. I didn't have a lot of time to research them meeting each other because it was kind of last minute.
So I brought the baby home, Jack was so excited. He was hyper actually, so I put him in a down stay for a few minutes. He wanted to see the baby, I let him smell the infant seat, and then the baby. ( The…

It has been a really "lousy" few days in our house. On Sunday we took my son and a friend to McDonald's for lunch. I was carrying the tray full of food and drinks when I sneezed. In trying not to drop the tray, I did something to my back...I heard a "pop" and then couldn't even move. Trying to get me out to the car would have made a perfect sitcom episode. Being an optimist I figured that if I just went to bed and stayed there overnight, I'd be fine by Monday. Not a chance. I got in a…

For those of you who work from home, do you get Doodle guilt? I know puppies and dogs sleep a lot, that's normal, but as the sun starts to become a more regular occurrence I'm feeling more and more guilty watching Bern mope around the house because I can't play with him every second!
It doesn't help that I just took on a new client and am juggling a new schedule.
Do you all go through this? I realize there's not much I can do - if I worked out of the house he'd be here alone…
