Ok, I posted this this morning in the food group, but after reading Jennifer and Jack's post about gratitude I've calmed down a bit and I can see the humour in the situation afterall, even though it's now 7:30 and the poop smell still lingers. I thought I'd share it in my blog so everyone can get a kick out of it.

Just when I thought things were looking up, Sophie did something she's never done before. She pooped in…

It has been a long road for me the past several years, I lost someone I loved dearly to a horrible lung disease, I actually held his hand and watched him take his last breath, and a few months later, I lost another best friend to the same disease, I moved out of my home state to a state virtually with only knowing one family that is only here part time at best. I have had to give up my job for the most part, my health has nose dived dramatically and to boot my closest friend down here, a…

To all my Doodle friends I just want you all to know how much of an emotional escape Doodle Kisses has been for me the last almost three weeks. You have no idea how much it helped me get through some bad times by just taking a few minutes to read all the comments.
My mother would have been 90 this September. Over the last 5 years she developed Type 2 Diabetes, Dementia, could not walk and became incontinent. We had three wonderful girls who took care of her in her home…

but if the shoe fits - Rooney is a traitor. My velcro puppy. How can this be? Rooney and I had gone to the airport to pick up my daughter who is here for the holiday. Roo is always a wagging machine when dh comes home from NYC but what he proceeded to do when dd got in the puppy hauler - OMG! He wasn't just wagging, he was shaking from head to tail while trying to wag - I've never seen him do anything like that! He was trying to climb out of his car seat and having a total melt down. …

I worked ( In a process of quitting this job ) as a chemical dependency therapist for the people in a halfway house, probation or pre-trial, with drug and alcohol dependency. I was a bit scared when I first got this gig.....
Today was a sentencing hearing for one of my client. He is in early 20's, I beleive he was in special ed as a student. He sold cocain to support his habit, also to have friends and social status.
On the flip side, he was the most punctual, respectful and…

This is heartbreaking but we can't forget the canine and feline victims of the recent tornado in Joplin, MO. Here is a link to The Humane Society of Joplin, Mo http://www.joplinhumane.org/ If you can even donate $10 every cent will count. There are so many that are now lost from their families.
You can also donate through www.doggyloot.com

When we first got Fudge and she was still a little puppy, I had big dreams of volunteering with her at the Assisted Living Facility where I volunteer. The breeder assured me she was the calmest dog in the litter, and if by calm she meant reactive to every living thing that moves, then I would agree. Before I got too carried away, I decided to take her over to the Assisted Living place and see how she did. My good friend is the receptionist there and calls herself…

Last night was one loooong night. I checked the weather and saw there were thunderstorms heading our way...again. Ugh, I hate storms!!! I admit it, I'm a big baby when it comes to storms, always have been. I thought this year I would be safer from the big, bad storms. We have no basement where we live and I have been pushing DH to move so we could have a little bigger house, a nice sized yard for the doods AND you guessed it, a basement!! We had some land in the…

Last year, at this time I was in the middle of planning my DD's wedding. My best friend's daughter is getting married this year on the exact date and her shower was yesterday. It brought the whole process back to me. My DD delegated the entire wedding planning process to me. She was not kidding when she said she just wanted to show up. I was in the throes of major wedding stuff when we brought Vern home at the end of March. When I told my sister that I was getting…

Okay, Peri is approaching 26 months old now and has not had an accident since she deliberately pooped at her friend Max's house after he pooped at our house (6 months old I would say).
Until today.
DH just called and said (picture a concerned, shocked voice) "Peri was sleeping on the couch and I smelled something and she stood up, looked at her butt, and pooped! What in the world???"
Friends: did she just poop in her sleep? Does anyone have…

It might be hard to imagine a dog being EXCITED to go to chemo treatments, but Penny is. Well, not so excited about the chemo, but thrilled to see her technician, Tony, and then Dr. Hillers. Talk about a stress-free environment!
Tony came out to the waiting room to get us, and Penny started thumping her tail right away. She has gained back 1 pound of the 5 she had lost. Today's blood work came back in good shape, and Dr. Hillers said that her lymph nodes are smaller this…
