Mom said if I wore this goofy costume she would take me to get a bully stick.
Here I am waiting to walk to my favourite store to get one.
Here I am leaving the store with my stick.…

It's hard to believe that Spike is already over 3 months old. We've had him since Feb 8. Two months yesterday. Wow. Time flies! It's still hard to believe that I get to go home every night to that cutie. So much has changed in such a short period of time. He's growing sooooo fast! I've had to let out his collar twice already. That's when his growth really hits me.
We've been through and graduated puppy kindergarten. Spike did amazing! We are teaching him new tricks as much as…

I can't believe it has been a month since I picked Dexter up from the breeder. What a month it has been! It's amazing to see how much a puppy can change in just a short time. It took 3 weeks to break him of his early morning wake up calls. Now he's a second shifter just like his mom and is happy sleeping in every morning. No more waking up with the sun! He no longer cries when I wake up and now patiently waits for me to let him out of his crate and take him outside.
Potty…

This made me laugh so hard as I pictured Fozzie and Shaggy before their trip to the "spa" last week. :)

After having two weeks off after dealing with health issues I've learned some new things I didn't realize having two doodles. they are so fickle but it makes me laugh, oh what joy and chaos they bring to my otherwise dull life!
1. You may think that it is more like this when they're together.... but it's really like this....…

We were talking on the DK forum about how I keep kids and dogs off the floor at the same time.
First of all let me preface this by saying I have an extreme case. I have 3 dogs all under a year and a half (Brisby 1 ½ years, Jake 1 year and 2 months, Pickles 5 months) and two kids that had/has significant medical issues. Throw in the fact that I am a super type A personality and you get a family dynamic that operates best under a…

It's hard! There...I said it. Not because of behavioral issues as the dogs are EXCELLENT with Charlotte and Charlotte is just as excellent with them. I've had one time where Charlotte has gone up to Peri and kind of shoved her to move out of the way and she got a "simmer time" (aka time out) for that one! Charlotte generally knows to be gentle with her doggies. Peri licks her and follows her around. And Taquito tolerates pets from her, which is a major victory (he's a Chihuahua for…

Famous last words, but, not in this case.
We received Gizmo, a year old Malti-Poo from a Riverside County shelter. Gizmo had half of his ear amputated because some kids stretched a rubber band around this poor dog's ear. My kids would never have done that! And I know they wouldn't have done such a thing...
Did I ever tell them, "don't…

Every dog is different, has a different personality and I like it that way, don't you? My Dolly who turns 4 today is a little bit of a scare-dy cat. She is also very affectionate, a little bit of a princess and very loyal. She loves people more than other dogs. Always comes when shes called. Barks at any animal on the TV, including cartoons. I think she's pretty cute, too.…

Not too long ago Vern went to the vet and we found out his weight had skyrocketed to 108 pounds. The vet was fine as long as he hovered around 100 pounds, but once she saw the 108, she declared that Vern needed to lose weight. Unfortunately, this is a scene I am all too familiar with in my own life and I was determined to handle this…

We got Boomer, an ALD, last week. He's 9 weeks old now. Such sweetie. I need to change my profile pic to one of him..the first was a generic doodle pic. I followed the instructions and it won't accept any pics even if they fit the guidelines. I'll keep trying. Anyhow, we are totally smitten. What an affectionate puppy. Doing well with pottytraining.Sleeping 4 - 5 hrs at night. Loves his crate1 And his Snugglepet.I think it really helped him adjust. He came from a littler of 9. Was a…

Libby turns THREE!
I’m turning three and I am so excited. My birthday is on March 31st, but my Daddy is having surgery so we celebrated early. Some of my cousins came over to wish me a Happy Birthday. I waited at the door for my family and when they arrived I ran ( zoomies) all over…

Well, after a 3 hour car ride, we made it out to Columbus way earlier than expected. Maybe the excitement made us try faster but it was a nice, and rather quick drive out. Eric drove while I graded papers in the front seat - it was a challenge but at least I got something done because since getting home, no grading has been done and lessons still need to be made for tomorrow - oh the life of a first year teacher.
Anywho, back to Lacey. When we arrived the breeders, Lacey…

Well we are almost done on Sunday with our first week with the girls . They are doing so good on housebreaking, they have gone to the back door and looked back at me, a few times and then I heard them actually cry at the door , they have also played with the bells hanging on the door . They go potty when I tell them outside , I was so amazed at how fast they picked up on the word go potty .I watch them like a hawk ..lol They…

Well, tomorrow is the day that we bring Lacey home. Time has gone so slow and we have been waiting so long for this day to come. We miss her like crazy since that first initial meeting and we cannot wait to see our little ball of fluff again.
That being said, I am feeling this mix of emotions. I'm so so so happy to finally have her home and I am beyond excited. But I can't help but feel really nervous at the same time. I have been running through everything in my head constantly. Do I…
