WooHoo, Buddy and I earned our Nosework 1 title this month in Newbury Park CA. It was the hottest day of the year so far, it got up to 90 degrees. Nancy and Skip, of Nancy, Ned and Clancy, came to watch and cheer us on. She provided our practice pictures with the boxes in the collage, thanks so much guys for…

I have to say having (2) 8 week old pups is an experience ! They did well yesterday with the housebreaking ,only a couple of accidents when I looked away for a minute , I keep them in the kitchen because of the tile floor , I was able to catch them while doing it and took them straight out , this morning I had them out well they decided they were done ran to the door and sat to be let in. This morning I found Kiera standing at the…

My mom tells me I'm growing up fast and becoming an awesome doodle. Now don't get me wrong, I still have lots to learn and issues we are continuing to work on. I do know how to sit, lie down, stay, shake, dance, catch balls and fetch I also know how to wait, come, drop it, leave it, and come(most…

I just did this video, based on a poem that I previously wrote. It is in honor of brave little Jasper and all of our darling rescue dogs; as well as our wonderful volunteers who dedicate their time and energy to save these little dogs...

In Wednesday’s blog post I hinted that during an “on-sight” product review a few weeks ago, Leo tested a treat and gave it a standing ovation. But I didn’t tell you:

This blog has nothing to do with dogs, other than the fact that my newly pregnant daughter and I have four between us. For those of you that follow my blogs, you know that my daughter and I have a long-standing disagreement about whose dogs are better. We argue about a lot of things like who is smarter and she loves to play her PhD card.…

Today we got the much desired email from our breeder informing us about which pup is ours out of the litter. We got our number one choice - Miss Pink Paws aka Lacey. We are so happy to finally know which one she is. She is beautiful - she has a wavy, thick, cream coat and dark eyes and nose. She weighs about 6 lbs right now. We can't wait to bring her home! She was such a cuddle bug when we were there and our breeder said that she is probably the most cuddly in the bunch. She such grow to be…

MEET JUNIOR! MANY THANKS TO THE DRC FOR SPOTTING HIM ON ONE OF THE MANY SHELTER LISTS.
JUNIOR IS THOUGHT TO BE A DOODLE, BUT, WHO KNOWS ABOUT DOGS WITH NO HISTORY. WHATEVER HIS GENETIC MAKE UP, HE IS PURE CUTENESS AND WE WILL SEE HOW HIS COAT GROWS. WILL HE 'DOODLE OUT?"
My son, Lance, has been looking to adopt his first dog as an adult. He…

Among the things many things he does my son, Matthew, creates games. I am, needless to say, very proud of him. Here is a fun game, Balloon Wranglr, for apple devices. I got zero on the first round but it was trial and error. I didn't know the rules and I killed a number of birds, inadvertently of course. The game is free. Here is the game link:…

I work in the ICU and when we admit someone, we have to ask everyone if "someone is abusing their money, food or shelter"… I always laugh and say "you must not have teenagers! when they say no!

I am often posting pictures of our rescue Maltese and how really bad they look when we get them. Dakota, is a dog who has been cared for very well. In fact, his owner had planned to show him but, she has accepted a career enhancing foreign assignment to which she cannot take Dakota.
She loves the boy and wanted to ensure that he will have a loving home but, she did not have the time to search for that home. Instead, she asked Maltese Rescue California if we would take Dakota and…

When the first words you hear from your husband upon waking up are, “Hayley just called and her car broke down and she is stranded miles away in a parking lot,” you can pretty much assume it might not be your best day. I blame it on grogginess that I said the first words that entered my head, “I hope you told her wrong number and hung up the phone.” No such luck and after a tow, a day in the shop, and a hefty bill, her car was all…

Who knew I could run a business in my home with two furry four legged creatures as my employed staff?
Who knew I had the pawfect childcare providers already in place?
Well I sure didn’t – at least not until Saturday.
I told The Boys three very special “little people” were coming over and they seemed beside themselves with anticipation. When their guests arrived, it was difficult to determine who was more excited…

I have been following with interest about taking your doodle to Lowe's/HomeDepot. Haley has mostly stayed at home when we are going to Lowe's because my DH didn't think he would be allowed inside the store. When he has gone I have to stay in the car with him. : ( A few weeks ago I was talking with a Lowe's employee and asked about dogs coming inside. She said people do it all the time (although, I have never seen a dog in the store when I have been there).
Yesterday there was a need for…

Reese is now 13 weeks old and weighs 21.2 pounds ... tall and lean. He is three feet tall standing on his hind legs.
Reese is my shadow and wants to be everywhere I am at. he sleeps beside me as I am on my computer also.
Reese now knows ... come, sit, down, up, back, off, up, go around, touch, high five to say hello, ... and we are working on loose leash walking and retrieving. Reese has also gone to the Tractor Supply and Pet stores and loves everyone. He is proving…
