Rosco and Thule had a Doodle Houseguest this weekend!

Our friend's F1 labradoodle, Noulli, stayed with us this weekend and did great at wearing out my doggies =)

He had a difficult first night settling in his crate in our room--wanted to be touching Thule I think the entire time so he vocalized this for a long time. He's absolutely smitten with her and thinks she's there for his humping delight. She's gotten really good at telling him when she's had enough, but he's a...um...male, so you know how that goes! LOL

Fun at our local AKC show!

Spent an hour and a half this morning at our local annual AKC dog show and got some nice pics of adorable dogs!

Here are some highlights:

First a couple of "obama dogs" or porties:

Clark threatened a number of times to approach the handler of any remotely doodley dog and ask "Is that a labradoodle?" LOL

Rosco and Thule are panting away...

JUST got back from our Walla Walla romp and we had a GREAT time!

14 doodles took over the dog park on a most sunny and warm day and all got along great. I had been a little down about the whole thing because so few people RSVP'd with a "YES" but there were some surprise attendees who had found out about the event from a local breeder so it turned out fabulous. Ok Breeders...time to move to Walla Walla, WA to ease my Puppy Fever!

I'm having intense puppy fever right now. Just perused a ton of breeder websites going ga-ga over puppies...chocolates, creams, reds...I want them all!!!

But I have THREE dogs and I honestly can't handle a fourth. Okay...**I** could but Clark couldn't ;-)

So...I am now thinking it's time I create a Breeder Relocation Package for all doodle breeders. Some of the best wines are made here now, we have mild winters, beautiful warm summers, ALL FOUR SEASONS...

Took a Wipe Out at the Dog Park Today!

Finally a bright & sunny semi-warm day of Spring here in Walla Walla so we took the dogs to the dog park (haven't been in months) to meet up with some friends. Everything was going fabulously, all the dogs getting along, lots of playing, cute doggies, etc.

I'm used to bracing as dogs run by...bending my knees preparing to be run into...no big deal.

Rosco's airhead mother's near-miss evening...

Tonight was almost a disastrous flop since it took me 45 minutes to make it to a restaurant that was probably 10 minutes away since I left 5 minutes before my 'date' with Tante because I screwed up my google map by NOT putting in the address and NOT realizing it and wondering WHY "Curry Corner" was NOT on the corner my map said it was on and why it wasn't taking only "1 minute" as the map said. We're HERE!

We pulled in to our hotel parking lot close to 7pm and immediately we went for a jog/walk. As I said before I HATE HATE HATE driving long distances and my thigh was sooo sore! (Clarkipoo is typically the driver of this family and at most I drive 1-2 hours on ANY length trip). Go ahead, laugh at my wimpy self :-p (though I only stopped ONCE when I missed an exit).

Rosco and I are Taking a Road Trip!!!

I'm heading West for training and JUST booked the hotel and off we go in a couple hours.

I HATE HATE HATE driving for longer than 1 hour in any direction and we're going for 5 ... ugh.

But with Rosco on board it will be much more nice =) plus I won't be lonely in the hotel and Rosco will get the royal treatment hanging out with me on the normally-off-limits human furniture!

We may even get to meet Tante from Doodle Kisses!

Rosco and Thule's Birthday photos

Their Birthday (Wed) lasted all of 5 minute I think (minus the burger chopping time and photography...LOL)...

1st in the morning they got their new toys: Skineeez (unstuffed stuffies with a squeaker at both ends).

Rosco went to work and successfully desqueaked his in about 2 minutes flat. Thule wasn't quite sure what to do with hers and hers is still intact.

Rosco and Thule met 4 DK Doodles at a Mini Backyard Romp

As Rosco Wees

It's time for another installment of "As Rosco Wees"...

We made significant progress yesterday! While the chicken broth idea has not taken form ( I don't cook meat, so the motivation to buy a chunk of chicken isn't very high ) -- I did use tuna again.. two cans worth (well WE humans ate the tuna...)!

What I did is drain off the tuna liquid into a plastic container... then rinsed out the tuna cans into that same container.

Next, I froze the tuna water.

The Rosco - Water - Pee Experiment CONTINUES

Someone had suggested I try giving Rosco diluted broth to encourage him to drink more earlier in the day.

Today after I had used up a can of tuna for me and Clark...I had an idea! Since there was a smidgen of tuna left in the can (just enough to make a dog want to lick out the can) I rinsed the can into a doggy water bowl and then added more water and after some re-assurance that YES the tuna water was for HIM... Rosco drank that up with glee!

The Rosco - Water - Pee Experiment

I started cutting off Rosco's water supply at 7pm (give or take 10-15 min) 4 days ago:

Day 1 (New Year's Eve) -- last potty break at midnight -- no potty in the middle of the night -- success!

Day 2 -- last potty break around 10pm -- He woke us up in the middle of the night for potty -- fail!

Day 3 -- last potty break...10-11? -- We were up VERY late and when something else woke him up we sent him out so don't know if he would have gotten up or… Continue

Doodle Messes

This is what I found when I came home today:

PINE NEEDLES from our tree!!! I assume it was Thule as usual. They are sooo poky...how could they feel good to munch on?

Later tonight I smelled something ghastly! Was it the pizza? No way...it smelled too much like dog butt

After catching yet another stray dog near my house(AGAIN) a couple of days ago, Clark suggested that I get myself a catch pole ;-)

My sweet discreet pooper

My sweet Rosco is SOOOO dedicated to his poop spot (the two far left and right sections of our backyard) that this morning he trekked ALL the way out there in belly high snow!!! He did his typical brisk walk (as brisk as he can be walking through high snow) back and forth until it was the right moment to hunch over. I should have taken a video or photo it was soo adorable...LOL.

Now if only his pee spot was that far. He practically pees on our cement walkway now that snow is covering… Continue
