My big 65Ib girl will be 1 on Oct 23rd!! So far I have been doing all her grooming myself with some hairdresser scissors. Today after attempting to brush her out I finally realized what a crappy uneven job I had been doing with the scissors... so I bit the bullet and went to a grooming shop and bought the Wahl KM2 clipper along with some different blade sizes. Up until now I have only used just a normal bristle brush, so I also purchased a metal comb and a de-matter…

Hey friends! My mom took me to grandma and grandpas cabin this weekend, I was so excited I could barely sleep! I woke my mom up early Saturday morning, she mutter that it was only 7am or something and gave me the stink eye, but was still nice enough to get out of bed with me. Dad stayed in bed, I am a little worried he might be going deaf because he never hears me when I want to wake up! Anyways, I forgot about dad pretty quickly because mom mentioned something about a beach and water. …

The one thing I notice about Shadow is that she does not appear tall. She looks like she should be a bigger dog but someone cut off part of her legs! When she stands up and uses her long body you see how big she is but she definitely is not tall. Her coat has been tricky so far. She shedded like mad as a puppy, then in transition her coat matted badly even though she was getting brushed everyday. Ended up having to get her a close trim and her coat has been growing back since. She appears to be shedding less now but once her coat is fully back in we'll know for sure. The biggest problem we had was crate training because Shadow would pee in her crate - she liked the bedding in there as a potty. Once we took that out she trained pretty well - and she is smart!
Some neighbours down the street went and got a puppy from there after seeing our dog as well so we do have a sort of sibling right in the neighbourhood. The reason we went for a puppy from Nina is that we wanted a little smaller dog. The breeder thought she'd be around 40 lbs. She started off like she was going to be huge (vet projected her at 80) but has settled in at 50lbs for the past few months. She turned a year old on Nov 3 so she should stay close to that as an adult weight. Shadow does have a great temperament which we love.
Shadow is from Nina and Wolf and we also got her last December. She is an F1, not an F1b like Bailey but same father and definitely the same look!
