Giada slept out of her crate for the first time last night, and she did awesome!!! She is a chewer, so I was going to wait, but got sick of that big crate in our dining room.

HELP! My perfect puppy has started two new bad habits:

1. After a week no NO accidents in the house (we had 2 the first few days), my 10 1/2 week old puppy has started peeing on my rug - even after she's just been out and emptied her bladder several times! I've been using the odor neutralizing spray, but she keeps going back to the same spot! I've finally just removed the rug all together, but what gives? I know she's still so young, but MAN, we were doing soooo great for awhile!

2. She might be playing, but last night, she jumped right ontop of my cat, bit her neck and started shaking her!!!! I've been trying to establish the cat as an alpha - letting him into areas first, eating first, smelling the puppy's food first, having access to the puppy's area, but Lucy can't go upstairs where the cats spend most of the time. Now my cat is totally (I mean TOTALLY) freaked out. Any advice?

Other than these two tiny issues - she's just an amazing puppy - so, so sweet and smart!

Does anyone else have a Doodle that just loves to cuddle? Toby will walk up to me through the day and just look at me with those big, brown eyes. If I sit on the floor, he climbs right onto my knee and goes to sleep! He is a huge snuggler. :)

Oh hurray! I didn't realize my little Finny was still considered a puppy at age 1 year 5 months! So I can join Puppy Madness! Woopee!

Zeke is 6 1/2 months old now and weighs 40 lbs. and is 21 inches tall. His mom is a standard and his dad is a medium. At first I thought he was going to be huge but has slowed down in gaining weight so he may end up being a small standard.

We adopted our Goldendoodle on Friday. We are still trying to work out sleep issues. He is in a crate in our room....tried it in the kitchen and that made for two sleepness nights!! He usually is up once, and then up for good by 6:00 a.m., which makes me very, very tired. :) No accidents in the crate yet, though. Any hints on getting a good night's sleep? And also, I haven't left him alone yet, and with the crate in our room, upstairs, I guess I will just have to block him in the kitchen. Ideally I suppose I should get a second crate ($$$).....Any thoughts on this?

Who has used or is using an electronic collar? I am going to "Beyond the Leash" in La Canada, southern CA. Scott is teaching how to use an electronic collar sensibly for reinforcement and to get Roo's attention. Roo is my high energy dog. Tigger is only 5 months and may not need to add the electronic collar. It is really nice to have another really good training aid. I wish I had known about it for my huskies.

Hi there, everyone! I'm Wendy and we have a 4mo old labradoodle named Chloe. We've had her since she was 8wks. She is a great puppy, so far and I can't believe how smart these little ones are! We start Puppy Kindergarten this morning and I'm hoping she'll be the start pupil :) I think our biggest issue right now is her chasing our poor cat!

Help! Jennings is a "jumper", and it is really annoying. He will jump for 5 mins or so when we are out walking (on his leash) and sometimes in the house. His vet said he just wants to play, but it really is aggravating (and embarrassing). He is 6 1/2 months... does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks :)

hi puppy madness... i am sharon, george's proud mommy.... he is currently 3 months old and is getting bigger right before our eyes. he is also getting into a lot of mischief every day... we are currently working on waiting at the door when it's opened... safety issues. anyways, its great to have a support group like this, it makes you feel sane :)
