Shortly after we got Banjo and I began posting pics of him on FB, I got a message from a friend of my cousin, who saw my pics. She introduced herself and said she'd fallen in love with my pics and…Continue

About four o'clock this morning Banjo (who was asleep in his chair beside our bed) let out the eeriest, most sorrowful/plaintive howl. It lasted just a few seconds, but woke us with a start! He…Continue

Banjo is just over four years old now. For most of his years he's been sleeping in our bedroom in "his" chair, on his bed or next to our bed on the floor. He doesn't leave our room ever except…Continue

While in Florida this past February we had many wonderful days on the beach. The best part of our vacation was tthat the beach was wonderfully dog friendly. and it seemed almost everyone there had a dog! Everyday was a wonderful adventure with new people and dogs to meet! Banjo was in heaven! Happy Dog = Happy Dog Parents!
One afternoon towards the end of our stay Banjo and I were walking the beach and encountered a woman with her young son and - get this - a nine day old…

The week has been unseasonably mild here in NH, with temps in the 60's. We've been able to get a jump on yard work - which is a great thing as we never quite finished our fall clean-up. When we're unable to keep a constant eye on Banjo, we'll tether him to the front porch. He can sit up on the porch, or down on the driveway. There's one stubborn patch of ice that remains and THAT is where Banjo gets comfy! …

Today I found out just what Banjo's made of. Just as I'd suspected...he's completely "opportunistic". This morning I took him out to the backyard to play in the snow. After a good 30 minutes of tossing snowballs for him we headed for the back door. I didn't have a leash on him and so I held his collar and started on to the ice slicked patio to the door. Well, as…

WOW! How is it possible that Banjo is just 2 years old.....it seems like he's been a part of our family forever! I don't think a day passes where either DH or I don't comment about what a wonderful dog he is and how lucky we are to have him in our life. Banjo - You are the BEST!

Carol, I am just now reading my May comments :) LOL Thank you for my birthday wishes.
Loved your Holiday card with my favorite Banjo on it :) Thank you!!
I got your card today. We all know that Banjo is seriously photogenic, but the pictures you chose for his card are especially adorable. I love doodles in the snow. Merry Christmas.
Hi Carol, thanks so much for your sweet and supportive comments. It's just another challenge on our journey with Murph. We have him on a whole new diet and for the past two days he seems better. We go back to the Vet tomorrow and we need to see if the anal glands are filling up again. I want to do anything to avoid the surgery that removes them. Some dogs end up not being able to control their elimination and ultimately have to be put down. He got so sick from the anesthesia last week when they had to go in to flush them out that he couldn't eat anything for four days. We were able to get him to drink, so he could stay home with us. My heart went out to him. He's been through so much....he needs a break. You've been such a great friend...I so appreciate it.
Thank you so much! Your comment about Finn's photos made MY day and it gave me a chance to stop by and enjoy your photos of Banjo (which I have admired since the day I joined DK :) BTW you two are so on our Bucket List. I think I'd melt dead away if I ever met Banjo in person.
Your photos of Banjo are absolutely gorgeous. What a fabulous pup!!
She is from a breeder in KY called Sunset Hill Farm. I actually switched breeders last minute due to a timing issue and this breeder doesn't have everything I would ideally like in a breeder as far as health testing, but I was welcome at any time to go visit the parent dogs and puppies and I spent time with the breeder, her family, and all of her dogs and I couldn't be more thrilled with the puppy I got. Ragley is a joy!
