Tiptoeing into blogdome

I Hate The Weatherman!

The weatherman said it would rain this morning but clear up this afternoon. Around noon, Yankee and I headed for the dog park. It has been raining for most of the week and we really needed to get out.

Samantha Got A Job!

Around the corner from us is a semi-private golf course. Our friends own the restaurant on the course so Samantha goes with us there to eat.

The course has lots of geese that the golfers just hate! They asked Samantha to come on over and chase them off the course. DH, Mark, took her over there earlier and she had so much fun running on the course. She listened to DD - when he called her she came running over to him.

Room to Run

I'm sure you've all rolled your eyes at rehome ads in the paper or elsewhere where the current dog owner claims the dog needs a new home with "room to run." As if said dog would gladly go out for a jog or sprints every morning if it weren't for the current home's dinky yard.

My lazy hot dog

This is Rosco.

He's wearing a wet towel.

He and I had just come back from a 3 mile walk held locally to support a member of our church who is fighting cancer.

The walk was supposed to be a 5K but it got reduced to a 3K due to the heat. Thank goodness, as Rosco looked horribly pathetic and hot the whole way I think we would have been in trouble.

We Lost our Charlie

Dear Friends,

Tonight it saddens me to tell you about the loss of our dog Charlie, the party mix cocker spaniel we've had for 15 years.

We had to have Charlie euthanized. He was getting sickly with his congestive heart failure that was manageable, but then he wanted to go for a romp and was running and playing, so we took him to dad's, and there his back legs kept giving out, and he was losing his balance, and his legs would kick out suddenly behind him. Yay! She is home!!

So, Charlie got spayed yesterday. She spent one night at Dr. Sweeny's, had a breakfast with him and came home this afternoon. She seems to be in a good spirit and feeling all right.
While she was out, Dr. Sweeny put a microchip in her, plucked some hair out of her ears, and took out her loose baby tooth!
I put a small tank top her, and it fits perfect!

This Is Only a Test

My daughter, Emily is beside herself with excitement! My mother has gone out of town for the weekend and has left her standard poodle, Brulee with us. She is only with us for 3 days/ 2 nights, but I am sure that my mother is trying to get the children prepared for bringing Cimmy home in 3 weeks. Emily constantly says, "I love Brulee." Bad Day!

Just want to say today was a bad day at the groomer. We asked for the same length as last time and we picked him up and he was completely shaved! We were told it was a misunderstanding. Hopefully it grows back fast!

life crazy

long time no talky to life has been a little crazy but now we hope so slow it down hope all is well for you all me and my group are all doing well i have been training well with dad on helping him i got to go to Reno convention center to see my human sis play basketball over 538 teams there where so many people all around and the noise but i held my head up high and i walked by dads side and never moved my head not once dad said i did great and i got a treat

Chase's New Look!!

Ok, so we gave up on the cream from the vet (not nasty enough), the Bitter Apple (I think it stung), my husbands boxers....etc. He would not stop licking, so it was off the the vet for a collar. He does keep walking into things, so I do feel bad for him. I tried to take it off and he went right back to licking, so it went back on. Memorial Day Event

We took Divot to the Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony in Lake Geneva. We are so proud of him. He did such a good job of handling the crowds and noise. He was mostly curious and just stood or sat quietly beside us the whole time. The drums in the marching band and the rifle salute really got his attention but he didn't show any signs of being

nervous or frightened. After the festivities we took Divot into the Paws For Treats store to pick out a yummy treat.

Loved the Virtual Bath.....

Chase got Neutered!!

Chase went for his surgery today!! He did really well and came home full of beans. When Hartley was done he was spaced out for the rest of that day and the next day. You wouldn't even know Chase had anything done!!.... Apart from one thing - he is licking and licking at his incision. We tried the supposidly nasty tasting stuff the vet gave us to discourge him, he licked it off quite happily and carried on! We didn't get a lampshade cone thingy… Continue
