I will be away for 5 days and am going to really miss checking in on all of my doodle friends and my Lucy. I know she will be taken really good care of while I am gone by my family. She is staying here at home and my one grandson is spending the nights and evenings with her, he starts school tomorrow also. I have other family checking on her while he is gone. So she will be in good hands. You all take care and will be back Sun.

In case you missed it on 60 Minutes, this is what Andy Rooney thinks
about women over 50
As I grow in age, I value women over 50 most of all. Here are just a
few reasons why:
A woman over 50 will never wake you in the middle of the night and
ask, 'What are you thinking?' She doesn't care what you think.
If a woman over 50 doesn't want to watch the game, she doesn't sit
around whining about it. She does something she wants to do, and…

Now that Riley, seems to be potty trained we let him out longer of periods of time. Take him to the store in the car, good traveler. I put him in his room earlier last night. Not a peep out of him, normally hits his door or scratches and barks to let you know he wants out. My wife gets up a 5 am, an hour before I do, asked her if she heard Riley stirring? Nope, you better check on him. Will I did and woke him up from a deep sleep. He just was so wore out from his travels and being left out all…

I went to the vet today and Finn weighed in at 25 lbs. He may end up being bigger than I thought. He parents were only 45 and 50 lbs so I figured he would be about the same. At the rate he is growing, looks like he will be as big as Yankee after all. I am definitely pleased.

I received the following in an email. Lessons on how to live....
"When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.
Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride.
Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure
ecstasy.
Take naps.
Stretch before rising.
Run, romp, and play daily.
Thrive on attention and let people touch you.
Avoid biting when a simple growl will…

Well, never a dull moment at our house. Last week we were on vacation with a friend of mine from Michigan and we had a great time. I was actually more relaxed than I had been in months. Yesterday I was getting a bunch of paperwork together for the boys returning to school that I needed to work on. I left the room, started organizing the papers in order of importance and noticed that the bowl of grapes that the boys were eating during lunch were gone. Wow, I couldn't believe they finished the…

Went to Wildwood for the weekend, my brother called us laughing! Apparently when we called and left a message for him, his Dood Flynn was near the answering machine. He was looking at it, probably recognizing our voices. Sean said he went to the machine and hit the button with his nose and jumped when we started talking again! Would you believe he hit that button a couple of times and just kept staring at the machine? I wish I could have been there to see it!! What a smart boy Flynn is!!

Today I had a swimming race with Java Joe Doodles, and guess who won! He did. Joe loves the water, and he swims daily. Today when I jumped in he bounded down the steps after me and swam fast to me across the other side of the pool. When he got to where I was in the pool I shouted, "Let's race!" and proceeded to race him across the pool swimming fast and furiously. He would glance sideways at me as I tried to get the lead. Joe was determined to beat me back to the steps, and he did. He won by a…

In my previous
blog we learned the story of Rosco's lost squeaker.
Today, a week later, we made the trip to PetCo again in hopes for a successful match and Clark spotted a little devilish squeaker that looked and sounded to be the same type that he has at home now (the ratted, circling the drain but still living one). We bought it.
Rosco was happy with it and I left him in…

My family and I just got back from Mackinaw Island and we have 3 doodles but only 1 could go with us!! There was no room for any more with the kids and all our stuff. We choose to take the younger doodle with us, he has had all his shots so this was good for him to get out, and to see new things. To my surprise everyone kept coming up to us and asking if he was a labradoodle=) Yes they were right only 2 of them thought he was the kind of dog the President has. Anyway, I knew how busy some of…

Hi there, Well Neely has had a bad couple of weeks. He started about that long ago, one night we awoke to poop or loose stool near our doorway.
The night before he had been out just before bed and I went off to bed and he went back to the door and rang the bells. I didn't beleive him as he was just out. I thought that due to the heat he just hadn't had enough excercise and wasn't quite ready for bed. Apparently he wasn't fooling.
This has been happening nightly and he must run to one…

I've always kind of wondered what my limit of dogs would be. I'm still not sure of the exact number, but I know I'm over at the moment. In my house right now there are;
My usual 6 dogs that live here. My poodle stud, a golden retriever, a labradoodle, two goldendoodles and our chihuahua.
A litter of 6 pups that are 6 weeks old
Another litter of 6 pups that are 4 weeks old
My sister in law is camping this week so I have her 85 pound doodle until…

We gave Bear a bath tonight and boy he loves the water. My husband actually gave him a bath. He must really love this dog because he does not even bathe our children! lol We put conditioner in his sweet soft curls and he came out as soft as a stuffed animal. It makes us so sad he will loose all his baby hair. It is so perfect right now!!! I guess we need enjoy it while we can. He gets more cuddly everyday. (and michievious!)
