2012 - will soon to be remembered as “last year”, WOW! For some it was “exceptional” and for others “not so hot!” But for many, it ends with hope filled plans of starting our lives “a new” when we wake on Tuesday morning. I’m talking those NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS…

Tonight is New Year's Eve, and I certainly have never been a big fan of this holiday. As a school kid, college student, and now as a teacher, I have always come to associate the beginning and end of the year with the school term, so the holiday has never really impacted me that much. If it is not full of glitz and glam, then it seems like something of a disappointment. For all of you out there who feel the same way, do not worry because someone else (me!) shares your sentiments. …

I just have to say how proud I am of Luna today.
We had about 30-35 people at our house for my niece's birthday party and we decided to give Luna the run of the place with everyone there unless she seemed as if she couldn't handle it. We were a bit worried she might get overwhelmed, since there is just my husband and myself so we normally have a very quiet household.
…

I can't believe that Boris will be four months old this week, time literally flies by. I just wanted to write down what life is like and how it has changed since we became a two doodle family. Before Boris came home I couldn't quite get my head around loving a second dog as much as I love Riley so I just sat back and let it happen. I took a wait and see approach. I didn't know if I had picked the 'right' puppy from the litter and all my scientific thoughts on choosing went out the door…

Many things bug me in life. Just ask my family. I am very vocal about the things that irritate me and many of my family members can often be heard saying, “Give it a rest, grousemeister!” Grouse isn’t really the word they use, but it sounds nicer than the actuality. My mom also used to say, “if you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all,” but I have found when I really get going when something bugs me, it wouldn’t be fair to my family to just clam up and keep my opinions to…

Equinophobia. Has anyone ever heard of that before? Translated from Latin it means "fear of horses," and our goldendoodle has it! Jeff and I first discovered this fear when we visited the local White Rock Lake dog park, and we decided to take a walk on the trail encompassing the lake. Everything was going as smoothly as can be expected, when walking the Milt, when all of a sudden a black stallion trotted over the bridge. The horse was massive and astride the horse was a very tall, thin…

During the month of December, Milton was trying really, really hard to be on the "Nice" list for Santa. Jeff and I thought he was giving it some valiant effort which is why we bundled up all his Christmas presents, along with his stocking, and sent him off to his grandparents' house. We did not anticipate any problems. Yesterday we received a report that Milton has been quite obstinate - tugging on his walks, refusing to walk, and insistently pestering people to play tug-of-war. I just…

We waited “forever” to open our Bark Box and gifts on Christmas morning…
We thought surely – once we returned from our morning walk, we could open the box, but that was not the case. So we…

Hi All! I know this post is a day late, but I doubt many people were trolling my blog on Christmas day...! Momeaux and Jeremy (Jeff's mom and brother) have been inundating us with shots of the Milt from Louisiana. They know how important it is for us to stay current with his happenings. Here's the happy Milt busy on Christmas morning.…

Having an overly energetic puppy can bring a lot of extra stress around the holidays when you are introducing a lot of new and enticing objects to the dog’s already over stimulating environment. I can imagine the puppy saying, “Wow, you’re bringing me a tree! I can climb on it, chew and tug on the branches, lift my leg on it, scratch my back on the lower…

Although Knox introduced his new brother Flash in his own birthday blog a few days ago, I thought Flash deserved a little more than that. Despite what Knox wrote, we are absolutely thrilled to have our new doodle boy. As many of you know, I have fostered two doodles (Leah and Shiner) and one doodle-wanna-be (who could forget darling Carter?) for the DRC over the past year and volunteered in early December to foster Flash, a beautiful F1 goldendoodle who was being…

Happy 2nd Birthday to my sweet Sophie Bear. It's hard to believe it's already been 2 years. She's such a smart, goofy and good little doodle. I don't know how I could possibly show or express my gratitude for all the joy she has brought to me. I spent a quiet day napping with my sweet girl, a nice walk in the snow, and lots of munching on home made treats. I couldn't ask for more :o)…

Recently, Sheba got to meet her mom, Pepper. I am amazed at how much they look alike and how they have quite a few of the same mannerisms. I see where Sheba gets her head tilt and shyness. Pepper is an incredibly sweet girl, just like Sheba. : )
About a week ago I picked Pepper up from the "Breeder" I bought Sheba from. I have been trying for about 3 years to get Pepper from this breeder. About a year and a half ago I was planning on picking up Pepper…

I want to wish a Happy Birthday to my beautiful, sweet, and smart Christmas baby, Sheba. I couldn't have known how much our lives would change the day I brought you home.
Sheba is the welcomer of fosters, always taking them under her wing and helping them feel at ease.
She's a great sister to Duke. Lots of mornings she greets him with kisses, which he doesn't seem to care for. ; ) Duke is a bit afraid of dogs and he tends to prefer people to dogs. Sheba is one of the few…

This page has made our lives with our puppy so much more relaxed as we sought information almost daily and always found the right answers to ease our worries. He has grown into a 7 month old stud and he is perfect in every way. Thank you everyone and have a happy new year with the loves of your lives!…

Just wanted to wish you all a happiest of holidays from me and the duncan doodle. It's been a rough year on DK reading about doodles with health issues or who have crossed to the rainbow bridge. It's also been a wonderful year to see lots of new puppy photos of doodle family additions. May the season be a time to reflect on sad memories and re-live the happy memories.
Duncan just turned 4 yesterday and i'm so lucky and grateful to have such an amazing furry companion. I'm…

Twas the night before a fourth birthday, when all through the house
The only creature stirring was a very large VernMouse
The stockings were someplace, but we have no idea where
We have reverted to bags because St. Nicholas doesn’t care
Fudgie was snuggled all snug in her dog bed
While visions of rabbits danced in her head…
