Today is Murph's second birthday. At least we think it's today....we originally thought it was 12/17, but then in going through some of his paperwork it showed 12/21 as his BDay. Murph was a DRC rescue, as most of you know....he came to us as a 10 week old puppy. He was clearly one of the cutest Doodle puppies I had ever seen, and when I found out his name was Murphy, I knew he belonged here. Remember this picture of "Little Murphy"?…

So my girl moved to a foreign county called Boston. Way too far away. She and BF have been trying to establish roots there much to my consternation....... :( I've always pushed her away and said fly, but when she did I have hated ever saying such s***. They have struggled in a major way, no jobs, no money. Well here we are nearly 2 years later and both of them have jobs in their degree fields. Wow. They are making nearly as much as DH and I are now??? How does that…

With the holidays hovering over us like a UFO, the five letter “buzz” word around a house right now (not mine!) could be “p.u.p.p.y.” I am not the one to tell you “when to get one”, or suggest that the holiday season “isn’t the right time”, those major decisions are totally up to you, your family, and your lifestyle. I will however strongly recommend you read up on the pro’s and cons of crating a new addition (the four legged kind) to your family regardless of its age.
According to…

Hi all,
Jeriki came home yesterday, him and Marabelle love eachother all ready.
He is a little shy, and a little nervous. We brought him home around 3:00pm and he didn't go pee till about 10:00pm. He is sooo beautiful, we are happy to have him. The cats are not to impressed they look at me with loathing in there eyes lol. I will post more when I have more to share of course.

Just a quick blog to say I finally got home last night and OMD what a reunion! As soon as the taxi dropped me off I bolted up the stairs and down the hall to my apartment where both of the dogs were with one of the sitters (and her doodle was there too). Well I burst through the door yelling "DOOOOOOOOODDDDDLLLLEEEESSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!". There was a brief moment of surprise and then all heck broke loose.
Winston was so happy and excited he couldn't contain himself and…

Meet our new foster dog, Norman!
I picked up Norman from a local shelter on Friday. He was found under a house early last week & as soon as my friend Doris saw his picture up on the shelter's Facebook page on Thursday, she called me. She had fostered another doodle earlier this year, but was unable to foster this little guy right…

Murphy is three years old tomorrow. He is our first dog and like a first child, we learned a lot from him and he made us into the dog lovers we are today. Here are some of the highlights of his life with us thus far:
Meeting Murphy at the airport, he is 8 weeks old and flew in with his littermate who he gets to see several times a month still.
He travels his first 6 months in our RV across country sitting in my lap
By 6 months…

Was a little nervous about starting intermediate class with Bailey this AM even though we are using the same trainer as basic.
I do have to say it is the most diverse group of dogs. Picture in your head. First: Rickie the chichuaua, very well behaved, no leash required and he is "titled" in training. Then there is the cutest mix breed dog. This guy is always looking like he is smiling..Next up a Great Dane, what a gentle giant he is. Then there is the sweetest german…

The other night, I went Christmas shopping. All I needed was a couple of gift cards and most of my shopping would be done. The last store on my list was BJ’s for a phone card for my mom. If you are thinking how much fun it would be to get a gift from me, I am just getting my mom what she wants every single year. All she ever wants is postage stamps, phone cards, gift cards, or cold hard cash. If you make the mistake of trying to pick out something fun and different, she gives you the…

With all the recent postings of dogs on craigslist and whatnot, I wanted to share a rescue story....it's not a doodle, but I still thought it might make you all smile. =)
My husband and I were at a Christmas party last night and met a little dog (lab whippet mix) named Raisin. lol I can't get over the name. Raisin was rescued by the party hosts after he was abandoned by a lake near them (Hamilton, NJ area). He was extremely close to death and spent 2 weeks in the vet and another…

Once again my Doodle Addiction is permeating another area of my life! Lately I find myself singing/humming Christmas Carols as I work around the house only I tend to work the word "DOODLE" into every one of them. For instance:
I'm Dreaming of a White Doodle
Deck the Doods with Boughs of Holly (Ouch!)
Doodle Bells
Here Comes SantaDood
And of course my favorite:
Rudolph the Red Nosed Doodle
This is great fun for me but my DH just looks…

Hi, I'm Sherri, and I'm a doodleholic. It's been 5 days since my last doodle kiss.
It all started a year ago. I had always enjoyed spending time with dogs as a recreational activity. But then I met a doodle and everything changed. He was so sweet and loveable at first, goofy, fun loving, happy, sloppy, shaggy, and loveable. Did I mention loveable? How could I not get drawn in? His name was Kaz, and I started to spend more and more time with him. His owners warned me about the…

So Marabelle is 4 months old now, and I think its time she starts letting me know when she needs to go out for a pee, instead of me guessing all the time lol.
Now I have noticed all the posts on DK about the pooch bells for the door. Now I know my Marabelle is smart enough to figure these out, and I started thinking, its Christmas there will be Christmas bells and ribbon everywhere. So I went down to the dollar store, and purchased ribbin and bells lol, I was so excited, I was going…

Well, what a day for little Ember!
Ember is now nearly 6 months (on Christmas Eve!) and is growing, growing, growing. She's about 32lbs and is just the happiest, sweetest, loveliest puppy I have ever met (yes, I suppose I am biased). She graduated from Puppy II last week and is a master at basic commands of 'sit' and 'down', and is about 95% on coming when called now. She also can 'gimme five' to the delight of everyone who meets her.
So today, Ember went off to…

Our neighbour down around the corner is looking after Gavin while we are away for a couple of days. We sent a baby gate as she was unsure how her two cats would react with him. She messaged me this morning, the gate has been ditched and Gavin has been wonderful with her cats.

Many of you know that we purchased our first home in March. It is on 1 acre and has a great backyard for the dogs. Problem is that it is not fenced! I have been holding off because of the expense. I want it to look nice - we can tie into our neighbor's cedar fence on one side, but the rest is up to us!
On Saturday I ran into a guy from high school who does all types of contract work. He does fences quite a bit and told me he would purchase the materials at cost, not…

Gio flies to Venice, Italy today with the breeder--we are all nervous but excited. He is such a good boy--almost housebroken and knows some Italian already! I will feel so much better when he is back on the ground. It is sad knowing that I will never see him again, but I look forward to hearing about his future adventures.
Presto went to his forever home last Friday and has a great big brother named Rocco, who is a gentle black lab. His name is now Memphis and he is doing really…
