A new discovery for Shelby....

This morning after our walk Shelby got her first experience with the sprinklers in my yard! She had to go potty and the back yard sprinkers were running, so I thought - well, I guess now is as good a time as ever... after all they will be on for the next several months!

Dog Collar Prophecy!

A little while ago I was in the kitchen cleaning up the dinner dishes and Quincy was helping me as he always does. Who owes me money?

I love my dogs, I love my dogs, I love my dogs. I really do, but today I need to remind myself!

I have worn glasses since I was 9. I am BLIND without them. They are the first thing I put on in the morning and the last thing I take off at night. They go on the shelf right above my bed. Gavin's first hair cut

Just got back from the groomer for Gavin's first hair cut. I did not want her to take him too short, just even him out a bit. She did just as I asked and I was very pleased with the results. She also shaved out all of the poplar pods stuck between his toes! Her price was great too - $42 CND including tax! It took her two hours. I will for sure go back to her. Don't Mess with ME!

Riley was resting by my wife's feet. Our grandson was jumping over her feet and legs, and was told to stop before landing on Riley. Nate ( grandson ) and Riley are not buds by any stretch of the imagination. Nate bugs Riley from time to time, doesn't do anything to hurt him just things to bug him. Doodle Attack

We recently had a little mishap. Moose, my 1 year old labradoodle, was playing innocently in our yard when a neighborhood dog came charging in and attacked. This little dog chomped down on Moose's leg so quickly we didn't even see it coming. Poor Moose did nothing to defend himself, he simply sat down and cried. Safety First!

After reading the blog post by Jodi today, I realized that I needed to get more serious about Darwin's car safety. He is usually just loose in the backseat, and enjoys it because he has the freedom to look out either window, lie down, or look out the front windshield. Delta Society Has a New Member!

Although she has been doing some Therapy work for a few months now we had never gone and "officially" taken the Delta Society Test. The Hospice organization approached us at a dog event and didn't require the certification, so I had never gotten in gear to sign up to take it. Sheila's Got a Trainer

Oh my gosh. At the suggestion of another Dker, I decided to try a trainer for Sheila at our house. Sheila was just so excited and unfocused at puppy classes that I felt we were getting nowhere fast. Pam, the trainer, had her doing stuff I never thought a five month old puppy could do. Car Accident Today But We Are Okay

I just wanted to share today that I have been neglectful on putting Bentley's seatbelt on since he hated it. Bentley's Dad didn't like the way he pulled himself to get away from it so we just didn't use it. Today I was going to take Bentley to Goldengardens dog park and then to lunch at a restaurant that lets you take your dog. Wilbur's (possible/probable) Forever Home

It's been 1 year since I brought Callie home (April must have been a BIG Doodle month last year!)

One year ago, I got the call from the Dekalb Animal Shelter telling me that I could pick Callie (then named Pen 310) up. Happy First Birthday Hudson!

The Irish Brothers...An Update

A few DK'rs have asked me whether Murphy is bigger than Guinness yet, and how that's going over. Well, he is WAY bigger than Guinness. Guinness weighs 17 pounds, and Murphy is now up to 27. Update on Scrappie

Scrappy is doing fine now. There were a few times we werent sure he was going to make it. But now the only way you can tell he was sick is by some dark spots around his mouth where there were blisters and around his nose. The Vet thinks that his hair will grow back though....He is running circles around Shaggy outside and in the house. They are both a joy to us.
