Are Doodles the New Real Estate!

We had a good laugh this morning when I logged on to DK and was looking at the dogs available for adoption. I saw that Taffy went PENDING and I said wow, that was quick, she just came up yesterday. Pet Bed by Parker Personal Purchaser

So this weeks purchase was a beautiful bed at Costco. Just $19.99 and I think it's beautiful. It's very stuffed and it has cedar in it. Despite the fact that Luca chewed off some of the piping when he was a puppy, the old bed has worn quite well

Go Check The Snap On Your Doodle's Leash Right Now!!!!!!!

I'm shaking. But I'm typing. This is that important.

I took Jack for a walk this afternoon, and we were walking past a yard when some dogs came rushing the fence barking ferociously. Suddenly, I had a leash in my hand, and Jack was at the fence barking back at them. Loose. Loose, in somebody's sideyard, with the street and the coming-home-after-work traffic about 100 feet away.

The snap pulled away from his leash. It was still attached to his harness.

Lucy & Sophie Turn 2

Lucy and Sophie turn 2 years old today! I cannot believe that it has gone by so quickly. I remember when I found out that I needed to wait until they were a year old to start their Therapy Pet work ..... that seemed so far away. Izzy's Gone

Let me try this again....I did something last time when I added the link and I lost my blog. I went out to Petfinder this morning like I do every day to see Izzy....her posting was gone. I sent one last follow-up to the shelter asking them what the status was, just so I could have some closure. Sophie's New Friends

We left the story as we were on the way home. After the call to my husband, our vet was next on the contact list. Just my luck-no room at the inn. They were booked up for the next few days. Nothing left to do but call in reinforcements. My mother in law wrangled an appointment with her vet and groomer for early the next morning. Met 3 doodles in Gulfport, FL this weekend

This weekend I flew down to visit my dad in Tampa. I stayed with my sister who lives in Gulfport. My visit coincided while Gulfport's semi-annual pet rescue festival. The city had closed off one of its main streets to traffic and there were loads of rescue groups (including 1 parrot and 1 rabbit rescue) and vendors. Our 1st Foster Puppy! UPDATED with Pics

Lucy and Sophie have no idea why I just took the new rug up out of the living room and put everything back in the closets, but they will find out this evening. Not a watch dog!

This is going to be a little redundant. I have mentioned that Riley is very smart ( he is ) and very observant and apprised of all things around him. Basically, he is a chicken shxt, when it comes to being ahead of the curve in checking strange noises and happenings around the house( he is a minus 10 ). We're Back!

Clark, Natalie and I got back from vacation today. We were gone for 17 days and are THRILLED to be back home! There's only so much packing/unpacking one can take! Natalie traveled very well. Our trip took us to Redding, California for a weekend with good friends. Next came Southern California to see my family for one week. Happy 1st Anniversary, Phoebe!

Sophie Comes Home

We lost our wonderful Clay last year, suddenly after 14 years. He was a very aloof border collie/chow mix. We loved him dearly. He loved my husband and tolerated my affections intermittently. Where Does Your Doodle Sleep?

My Quincy doodle sleeps on the hardwood floor at the foot of my bed. He occassionally gets on the bed but rarely stays for more than a few minutes. He has his own comfy bed in my room but he rarely sleeps on it. The thing is I feel bad that he sleeps on a hard floor and worry that it might hurt his joints. I guess I am comparing how I would feel if I slept on a floor. I think maybe he just likes the coolness of the floor. Am I being silly?
