I am sure it has happened to others, but how do you respond to snide remarks from poodle people?
Murphy and I were in our annual Mardi Paws parade last Sunday. (There are very few doodles here, and none as large as Murphy.) As we walked, everyone wanted to know what kind of dog he was. A lady with two standard poodles in the crowd, upon hearing that he was a goldendoodle, remarked " I think it is disgusting that they would use a poodle to breed that. He is…

This is 9 week old Banjo! He's a mini-golden doodle. We haven't met in person yet...but I've fallen head over heels in love with him and am anxiously awaiting his arrival from WV this coming Tuesday. I feel like a kid at Christmas!!! I've combed the internet in search of puppy to adult pictures trying to get an idea of what Banjo will look like in a year or so. Any ideas…

This is one of my favorite photos of Dakota. And now ONLY because we are here to learn and improve photography, I must share the comments of the photographer that critiqued this photo because it was a lesson learned for me that I would like you to learn from me rather than through your own experiences. I got a thumbs up in composition. I was told that this was a good photo and if only I had of focused my camera on the dog, it could have been…

Chris, Agnes and I are participating in the SPCA K9-3K. We accepted this challenge in order to raise funds to help the homeless pets at the SPCA of Wake County. Are you able to donate $1, $5, $10? If so, please consider sponsoring me in the SPCA of Wake County’s 11th Annual K9-3K Dog Walk in downtown Raleigh and help me reach my fundraising goal.… |

It's 10 AM. Sheila made it to 7AM this morning. Yeah. So far I've bundled up 3 times for potty, zoomies.
Sheila has fallen in love w/ the birds, watching them eat, barking at them (hmmm). Played in the new snow (I have a longggggggg training leash so she can zoom and boy, whoever came up w/ that term was a genius (love the romp word, too). She jumped face first into DH winter boots, I would have taken pic but I was afraid she'd suffocate. Then she played in snow, is now braver, going…

With the recent dump of snow in our area, I experienced my second major wipe-out while walking Gavin. The first time I fell on top of him. I bragged that he alertly assisted by breaking my fall. DH pointing out that poor Gavin had no choice - I had him pinned! But if he had not been in perfect heeling position...
Yesterday, I wasn't so lucky. I fell off to the right on yet another icy sidewalk that had been neglected by a home owner. I went down hard, but aside from a goose…

Besides being technically correct, being well composed spells the difference between an ordinary photo and one with an impact. It is very important to know and understand the common principles of a good composition. We used the word "principles" rather than "rules" because the latter strongly suggests that a…

I am tired, achy, exhausted, happy!! Sheila is a tiny tot, weighing in at 41/2 lbs. at 4 mos. But she is a bundle of energy and reminds me of a hummingbird. She just whirs with excitement, her tail and her whole body wagging, hopping, chewing, p and p-ing. I keep trying to catch shots of her but she is too fast for my camera!!
Luckily Sheila loves snow. She is a true Maine girl, born and bred. That's good, since thats where we spend…
