DOODLE DOWN...

It’s no secret that Leo is what one would call a “mission oriented” Doodle!

From the time he raises his head in the morning – till the time it hits the floor from exhaustion at night, he is one busy little dood…

Doesn’t matter where we go, he will grab “Wilson” and follow me EVERYWHERE……

A DOODLE MOM’S BIRTHDAY

On this day (Aug 1st) a few decades ago, Gladys & Harold were the proud owners (Oops) “parents”of a little baby girl…

LONNIE & LIBBY LU’S BARKBOX STORY

Pet parents are quite similar to Mom’s and Dad’s of two legged lil’ people. We love to share information, adore fawning over each other’s furbabies, and can “sniff” each other out of a crowd like nobodies business!

Early on in my pet blogging life, I met (thru social media) Lonnie – another “Doodle Mom.” For months we have communicated regularly about Harley, Leo, and her cutie pie “Libby Lu.”

“Collar me flattered” when we received…

ESCAPE FROM DOODLEVILLE

No matter how much you love something – separation and/or distance can be healthy from time to time. The same holds true for me when it comes to “The Boys.” No one who reads our stories could dispute my unconditional love for these two creatures, but at least once or twice a year I must vanish to “replenish.”

DD (Doodle Daughter) is my “escape from Doodleville.”. Although she lives only a mere 41 miles away, weeks will sometimes add up…

AGILITY TRAINING – RUNNING FREE

This morning’s walk was the best!  Talk about a strange occurrence? We had a breeze in the air! While the leaves on the trees swayed back and forth, Harley pranced, Leo strutted and I whistled a tune with an extra pep in my step at the crack of dawn! Could this mean the dreaded “heatwave”has ended?

Since the weather was pawsitively pawfect, I grabbed my keys, my liquid fuel (coffee) and we headed over to OTPR for an early romp through the…

AGILITY TRAINING – HURDLING OVER OUR OBSTACLES

It’s the 5th week, our 3rd class, and we’ve had 3 #secret, #remedial, #catchup sessions in between.

“By Doodle, I think he’s got it!”

Saturday’s class was distinct because:

  1. It wasn’t raining – class was cancelled last week due to rain
  2. It wasn’t hot as “purgatory” outside – unbearable temps of late
  3. The other pupils didn’t show up so it was only Leo & the Doodle Whisperer - ”ruv” the one on…

FEELING HOT-HOT-HOT!

I feel like I’m never satisfied! By mid January I’m fantasizing about July, the sun, tank tops and flip flops. Today, I’m dreaming of a “White Christmas” – go figure…

Temperatures in this region are relentless. For the past several days now we’ve been knocking previous temperature records out of the proverbial park! This is what’s become our “new normal”……

DST & DOODLES IN DC

Regardless of how well we plan our weekends , we’re never “really” in control now are we?

After Leo’s “breakthrough” last week on the agility course, I was “fired-up” about his upcoming class bright and early Saturday morning. Much to my dismay, I woke to find a note from Karen the“Doodle Whisperer” in my inbox…

Once I adjusted to this paradigm…

AGILITY TRAINING – HE GOT A NEW DOODLETUDE

I cannot tell a lie – when my head hit the pillow Monday night, I said a little prayer asking to hear a thunderstorm in the morning. When I woke, I did my best rain dance EVER as I sauntered over towards the window. The streets were dog-bone dry…

As we returned from our morning walk, a few raindrops started to hit my shoulder, nothing worthy of any rain gear, but my immediate thought was… “Oh well! it’s raining, we can’t go!”

No “one on…

HARLEY’S 4TH OF JULY HOLIDAY HIGHLIGHTS

Hi, it’s me “Harley!”  – and it’s my fault this weeks post is a little tardy.

I asked DM (Doodle Mom) if I could tell my own doodle version about this past holiday weekend, She said “sure Harls” (she calls me “Harls” when I’m acting cute and irresistible). I’m somewhat slow on the keyboard, that’s why this edition of the “Doodle Daily” is so late……

BARK BOX SENDS A PUPPY PICNIC BOX

Our June Bark Box came the other week. Much to our dismay, we didn’t have a “Gold Bone”inside, therefore we aren’t traveling to NYC compliments of Scout and the Bark Box team. None the less, we had a blast making the video and sharing our humorous moments with you!

The Boys however, were super excited with the aroma coming from the box because it held all the trimmings and fixings for a great 4th of July pupnic……

AGILITY TRAINING – REMEDIAL TUTORING

After the disaster on Saturday (see “Agility Training – Going Backwards”), I took the advice of the instructor and made arrangements to bring Leo back to the outdoor training area on Tuesday to run through some of the equipment he was introduced to on his first day of training.

Karen (the instructor) thought it might be helpful if Harley joined us. The concept being, with Harley tagging along, Leo might be a tad more…

AGILITY TRAINING – GOING BACKWARDS

Writing this post is painful – both physically and emotionally (keep reading). I feel like a mother who has to tell her athletic “super star” husband, that the son they had together didn’t make the “little league” team, OUCH

Saturday was Agility training (week 2) for Leo and I.

*Feel free to catch “Agility Training -Just the Two of Us” for a better understanding as to…

JAMAICAN ME CRAZY

If Leo could read, he would probably “bite” my hand for sharing this story! But since he can’t, I will…

It is no secret that Leo adores his beloved “Wilson!”

AGILITY TRAINING - JUST THE TWO OF US

Someone asked me who was Leo more attached to – me or Harley? Hummmmm?

Harley and Leo have been close since day three (it took exactly two days for them to bond)…

If they asked this same question and referenced any other two legged family member I could unconsciously blurt out -  “me!” But because they asked me to choose between Harley and I – there was hesitation in…

JUST DOODLING

Harley and Leo are like the “gifts that keep on giving.” Since their arrival I’ve felt as if I’m living a fairytale. It’s as if I’m a character in Peter Pan and the boys are a doodle version of Tinker Bell complete with “pixie dust!”

In the famous folktale, Tinker Bell would often tell Wendy Darlng, “All you need…

THE FATHER’S DAY SANDAL STORY

I figured out why the thought of Father’s Day excites me so.

It’s the planning and scheming to make a whole lot of something with a whole lot of nothing for someone who deserves the world…

The other week, I watched DH search frantically for a particular pair of sandals. He must have looked everywhere about three times, before asking me if I knew of their…

A GOLDENDOODLE WEEK

When you’ve got projects, work, and doodle/family activities, (or children, cats, etc…) to cram into each day – the days seem to come and go so quickly. At least they do at our house!

Once the sun starts to set on Sunday, and things slow down a bit – I retreat to my office to finalize my thoughts and notes before I post another blog . This Sunday, I couldn’t decide where to begin, because this entire week has been a “blur.”

Then I thought – why not share “a little…

SPRINGFIELD DAYS PET FEST

When I tell you Saturday was hot – I mean it was hot! I’m talking “Africa” hot – Tarzan would have limited his “vine” swinging by mid afternoon – for sure!

Several weeks ago I promised some anipals, who were hosting and sponsoring Springfield Days, that The Boys would come out for the Pet Fest activities. Due to the high temperature, DH and I had a mini summit meeting before leaving and decided to bring lots of water, remain in the shade, and not…

A BIRTHDAY "PAW"TY FOR LEO

Forgive me… I meant to tell you about Leo’s pawty at Olde Towne Pet Resort last week, but felt compelled instead to post information about the tornado in Oklahoma and the pet owners who needed our help!

Today, seems “paw“fect to tell you what a spectacular day it was!

A special “doodle hug” to DD (Doodle Daughter) who was super sweet for putting together some“groovy goodie…
