What does your doodle do when they are most excited or happy?
Zoe does a happy dance. It's a cross between a dance and a skip with a beat. left, left...right, right...left, left... right, right...all while skipping towards you. She also has her mouth open with her tongue slightly out...looks like she's smiling =)
Bender yaps! it's like a bark but a "YAP YAP YAP"! It's kind of annoying but he can't help it! haha
He also leaps. Leaps from the second or…

OMD, I’m not the boss! I no longer call the shots! I’ve been replaced…
I had great intentions for Saturday morning – well at least I thought I did. I’d suggested a month ago that we go to the WAGS N’ WHISKERS pet exhibit. I love carefree – laid back – outdoor “pet friendly” activities – and this one had several vendors I wanted to visit (including our friends at OTPR), but these plans were…

Last week we had a little...biscuit incident...with our lovable 13-week doodle Copernicus. I swear I just set the bag down for a microsecond while grabbing his leash, and suddenly half the biscuits were gone. What a naughty dood.
Of course, he almost managed to convince me of his innocence with those big brown eyes.
Later, when I sat down for a sketching session, I whipped up a little print to commemorate the event. It now hangs in my office and reminds me…

Some days the Milt likes to join me at the pool. Are dogs allowed in the pool? That's a loaded question. During apartment office hours, no, definitely not. After apartment office hours, well it's a toss up.
The Milt is still…

Jackson was stung by the bee at 7:30 am this morning and he had a major allergic reaction. Within 20 minutes his nose was 3x the original size, eye swollen shut, fever up and trouble breathing. We rushed him to emergency room and he was treated and released by 3pm. Quiet a scare and now I will always be so terrified of bees. If I wasnt home he may of died Terribly scary situation. So Grateful for the incredible team that took care of my puppy today at Laguna Hills Hospital.…

More training today, Darwin was very focused. He doesn't kid around when it comes to Mozzarella.

A couple of things lately have had me contemplating my own mortality. It isn’t something I think about a lot, but I do want to make sure that Fudge and Vern are taken care of if something should happen to me. The good news for Fudge and Vern is that my husband and both of our daughters love our dogs as much as I do and would never willingly give them up. Now, if I could just convince myself the dogs will continue to enjoy the same level of care that I provide for them, I could rest…

The answer is yes according to one of my good DK friends. As some of you know I went through quite a traumatic couple of weeks when I attempted to adopt a Goldendoodle who was up for re-homing. It didn't work out because the family were quite frankly nuts. During a two week period I became close to the original breeder of that dog who was and still is very upset about the whole thing. The breeder tried to get the family to return the dog to her and she even offered to pay me back if I…

Every day I go to school, and I have to leave my Milt. I cannot possibly describe how difficult this has been for me. The guilt is overwhelming, and all throughout my day I find myself thinking, "What is poor Milt doing right now? He must be so bored."
Thankfully, Jeff and I have worked out a little schedule to make things more pleasant for our first born AKA our goldendoodle. Three days a week, Milton goes to doggie daycare; he loves it! (More details on daycare in another…

Sunday morning, Jeff went to church, I went to yoga, and the Milt stayed home. Whenever we leave, our teething goldendoodle stays safely gated in the kitchen and bathroom area. When Jeff arrived home, Milton greeted him at the door. So, what happened?

I was thinking the other day about the many dogs that need new homes and wondering what it would be like if Fudge and Vern or someone I loved rehomed me. I am so set in my ways and I prefer my own home to all others. Sure, we take vacations from time to time, but usually I long for home after just a few days. I love being surrounded by my things, eating off of my favorite Polish Pottery dishes, and ending every night in my own bed with my favorite pillow. Even though I write a lot about…

Recently we have had really bad luck with leashes. We forgot Milton's John Deere leash in Louisiana, and he completely chewed up his retractable leash. So, I went out to Wal-Mart and bought the Milt an adorable royal blue leash with paw prints on it to match his adorable royal blue collar with paw prints on it - matchy matchy. Jeff, on the other hand, ordered Milton a heavy duty chain leash which makes him appearto be the epitome of a Junkyard Dog.…

Not since SPLAT (SEPTEMBER 8, 2011) have I “intentionally” wrote about my own comical behavior. I’ve been told I have a few “memorable moments” from time to time, but the ones that amuse even me – I must share…
June 1st of this year, I took a huge step and got “serious” about my health and weight! I evaluated my lifestyle and decided (like most of America living on the darker side of 50) that I’d better…

For my 12 week old doodle puppy Copernicus, every morning starts exactly the same. He wakes up by 6:30 and rustles around until I finally drag myself out of bed. When I open the door to his crate, he stretches, shakes, and begins to trot behind me down the stairs. And then comes my favorite part. When he gets to the second to last stair, he…

No pictures tonight, but George came over for his first visit. Ozzie really wanted to play with him, but Oz is huge and George is only 9 weeks (but huge for 9 weeks!). Harriet wanted nothing to do with him - clearly she wants to remain the baby of the family! Mater was his usual chill self, welcoming George and then just hanging out. George kept trying to see if maybe Mater was his mom, but the biology was totally wrong! It was funny, but he kept nuzzling up under Mater whenever he…
