How do I stop my puppy from Mouthing/Biting/Nipping? (this thread has a link to at least six older discussions about mouthing, etc. -- replying to this discussion can help centralize all the good feedback about this very common subject. hello. I will be getting our goldendoodle puppy in mid April. I hope to learn a lot here before she comes home!

Congrats and welcome! I think you'll love it here. I know a few of my GD's littermates are on DK! I do believe it has made me a better, more well informed dog owner.

Hello. I just joined this group and wanted to introduce myself. Maizy is now eleven weeks old, and joined us at nine weeks. I have been "lurking" here for eight months, and I'm grateful for all the comments I've read and now want to contribute back. It has been 14 years since we've had a puppy, as we lost our last lab a year ago, and I'm thinking that raising a puppy with the internet community is so much nicer.

Lucy, my Fozzy turned 16 weeks on 3-7-09 and lost his front two teeth within two days! The sooner they come out the happier my two boys will be.

Hi everyone, I pick up my baby 'Pongo' on Friday!!!! Only 2 more sleeps to go! I can't wait...... such a long three weeks since initially choosing him! He'll be 8 weeks old. He's a miniature labradoodle, mum is a black lab and dad an apricot miniature poodle... Does anyone have a clue as to what he might weigh now? Life is seriously going to change come friday...... and I can't wait! :)

Riley the lab is finally adjusting to the goldendoodle, Kenzie. She still has to be very tolerant and endure a lot of jumping and nipping from the puppy, but they are playing, wrestling, and doing tug-of-war now. That's a big improvement!

It's funny because we are watching a reversal of roles. Riley (lab) was always taking toys and bones off of her mother, Bailey. It seemed like Bailey just tolerated it and let her daughter win, after some protest. Now, we see Riley giving in to the new puppy. When Kenzie tries to get a toy or bone from her, Riley will growl, but eventually the puppy wins. Anybody else have experiences where the older dogs give in to the younger ones?

Kenzie is growing every day!

My Corky also enjoys nipping and biting hands and pant legs(also my son's size 14 feet) It seems wose with the boys 14 and 8 then with my daughter and myself. He completely spazzes about 2-3 times per day....right when he gets up in the am and at bedtime....

Lucy is very active and enjoys nipping and bitting hands and pant legs. This is especially a problem with our 3 year old granddaughter who seems to love to taunt and play chase with Lucy. When will we lose those baby teeth?

This weekend my 14 yr old GR finally started giving it back to Fozzy! Yea Boomer! He never nips at Fozzy, but barks at him like MAD! I spoke with my vet and she said that as long as Boomer does bark at Fozzy once in a while, that he is remaining in the alpha position. If he didn't just ignore him, but actually back off, then that would mean he is standing down. So, I just let them work it out, and finally Boomer was fed up enough to let him have it. Now, I don't have to feel bad anymore. My #1 is still in control, he has just been extremely patient.
