WELCOME TO THE FOOD GROUP - This group was started in an attempt to present well-researched and FACT-based information on the amazingly complicated and confusing issue of feeding our dogs. There are also many issues we would like to explore. We thought it would be helpful to put all of these questions, information, and feedback into one place here on DK where everyone can find it, contribute to it, ask questions, and learn together.
WE ASK THAT YOU NOT POST ANY RECOMMENDATIONS FOR PRODUCTS FOR WHICH YOU RECEIVE ANY TYPE OF COMMISSION OR COMPENSATION. THANK YOU.
IMPORTANT-PLEASE READ "FOOD GROUP GUIDELINES" BEFORE STARTING A NEW DISCUSSION.

I think this is an easy question. I think Maggie is tired of her food. She's been eating the same thing for a long time, and she's kind of blah on it. She's my most reluctant eater anyway. She's eating Nature's Variety Instinct Raw Boost Beef. She's…Continue

Riley LOVES her kibble but she is really not super motivated by any treats we've tried.  We really haven't tried that many (just pure bites chicken and Zuke's minis, right now using a different Fromm kibble as treats) but we need a couple different…Continue

My turn to ask for advice. :)Jasper's digestive system has gotten a little bit "off" the past few weeks. I'm chalking it up to new and different treats, and too many of them; the treats were being dispensed very liberally during the weeks leading up…Continue

Actually, we do have a discussion here on Chicken Soup. You'll have to copy & paste the link, it doesn't work here in the comments section.

It is kind of hard to ask & answer questions here in the comments section; you can do a search for "Chicken Soup" by clicking "view all" above, which will take to the discussion section, and then typing in the search box. Or, you can ask the question in a the Commercial Foods discussion up above, or you can start a new discussion on that topic, lol. In our recent survey, we did have 2 members who used CS for the DLS, there may be more who didn't respond to the survey, but they were not using the large breed formula.

Is anyone feeding Chicken Soup Lg Breed Puppy? It SEEMS like a good food...but is it?

Jack used to love Pill Pockets, and it was so easy to give him pills that way. He would beg for them like treats! But then his crazy picky ways kicked in and he started spitting them out. So I have to put his pills down his throat every day, which we both hate. He spits them out any time he can, lol.

Oh ok, great, thanks Karen! Ya I checked out some of the forums, I still can't quite figure out if it's bad or not! Hopefully I hear back from Dianne!

Dianne Carter feeds Acana, she highly recommends it. I think it's in those links I gave you and also in the Commercial Foods discussion. Click on "View All" right above, and then do a search in the discussions for Acana.

Anyone on here use Acana for their puppy?

Hi Michele, I use Taste of the Wild and it seems to work well with both of my dogs. I started Lola on it because she seems to have a delicate stomach where grains are concerned. Marlow loves it too. We use the Bison and Vension flavor, but they love the salmon one too.

Michele, there are is a lot of discussion in the Commercial Foods section about TOTW, as well as in separate discussions. Click on Food Group discussions above, and do a search. TOTW is a very good food which many people here are using.
