Hi All, new to group here! So far we just do car trips. Our recent was to Moab UT. Great pet friendly area with the exception of the national parks, but there are so many other things to do and see area that a just as interesting or even better!

I'll be curious to hear too about taking a dog to Europe. The trip is still a couple years away.

Linda, my son and daughter-in-law use the bark collar on one if their doodles. At first they had to put it on everything the left the house and at night. Now they don't seem to have to use it very often at all.

It is interesting to hear all the long trips doodles go on. What fun. We go from Vegas to Brian Head, Utah often and Hurley always goes with us. We plan to take him to the beach. He is quite the water dog but I cannot imagine getting sand and salt out of his coat. I keep his coat long and he is full size.

When leaving the country isn't there a quarantine period in some countries?

Frankly I don't like to go away without Hurley. But this summer we are going to Yellowstone and where we are stating does not allow dogs. Most of the family is going as it will be my 70th birthday and am running the Yellowstone 1/2M. I like to do physical active type things in each birthday. It does take me longer to do the distance and longer to mend now. Darn this getting older.

Hello!

I'm new to the group but thought i'd share our girl's travels.  Our Pepper has been on a 4 hour car trip with us to California from Las Vegas, We took her to the beach there and she LOVED it!!!  She didn't even think twice, she ran straight into the ocean and was running around in the sand!  We also took her to Mtn. Charleston with us during winter and she really enjoyed the snow as well (although this momma didn't really like all the snow on the paws).  Now, we are taking her to Laughlin, NV with us to celebrate our anniversary and we will be staying at the Harrah's which is a dog friendly hotel!  Can't wait to take her to the lake....I know she'll love it!

I am not planning on it for a year, but I want to take my dood to Ireland for a month. Is it safe or too traumatic for them?

It sounds like a great trip, Linda.

Hello everyone, Just got back from a 3 1/2 wk trip with the girls in our RV...They really enjoyed it.  We traveled from Ky down the gulf shore to Disney, spent a week there, moved over to the East coast below Melbourne FL then ended in Georgia for a rally. They loved to explore all the new areas.  Lucy did so much better this trip when we had to leave them in the RV.  Very little barking.  Will try & post pictures as I get them filed...

I'm taking my puppy on his first road trip tomorrow. We will be driving from California to Oregon and then on to Vancouver, BC. I looked online and I'm almost positive that all he needs is a current rabies certificate to cross the Canadian border-- can anyone verify this? I'm just worried I missed something when researching and he'll get stuck at the border for not having the right papers!

We travel between Denver and Palm Springs with our doods. The Drury Inn has been a great place. They are very accommodating and no extra charge. For the doodles that are stressed being left in the RV's, have you tried a Thunder Shirt? My oldest wore one when we traveled by plane with him. It worked very well.

Planning a trip to Mammoth California and bringing the dog. Does anyone have recommendations of where to stay with her? Planning to go before the weather turns.....

We went camping this past weekend with Moneypenny and she had a ball.  We went to one of our local lakes and tried to get her out into the lake.  She was not very crazy about it but did give it a try.  Every time one of the waves would come up on her she would run from it, then she would run back and try to find where it went. Lucy our other Doodle just sat on the edge and watched.  She does not like to get into the water, she is just to prissy. LOL Just love my Doodles.
