I'm 2 today, no longer a puppy.:<( A fun day playing in the snow with Mom, a birthday cake made of cookies, Dad cooking salmon for my supper and some new toys and treats, all these make for a good day, now if only Mom hadn't made me wear this stupid hat. If I find that thing alone, it's history.

It was 20 degrees here last week...really cold for us. Today it began to warm up so Murphy and I headed for the lakefront for a walk. I took a few photos with my phone.
It was 59 degrees!…

I videotaped the puppies last night as they were trying to walk across the box to mom--sooo funny to see them wandering around, falling down, etc. Their eyes are just starting to open, so they are getting a bit better at navigating. Porkchop does something very unexpected and out of character in this video--I am sure you will see what i mean!
This is a four minute video--sorry the sheet looks so disgusting--I had just washed it, but puppies are really messy! I am doing laundry…

Riley is not even two yet. He has so much energy. But he has toned it down, because we are not all that active. In that I mean we don't walk him. Don't give him open spaces to run and do his thing. He has adjusted and seems perfectly fine with our home and life style. At 8:30 am this morning he barked to be let out of his crate. Aired, and I went back to watching my dvd. He slept on my lap for two hours. Christina, called and wanted to know if I wanted to meet her at an indoor dog…

Some of you might know that we just moved to Arizona from Florida because of many things, but one in particular is that we love the beautiful mountains and trails to hike on.
I originally got Murphy to run and then hike with and have taken him everywhere and he has literally scaled mountains that go vertical and we slide down. No fear, just that look of "Are you serious?" No whining, no stopping to lick his paws, no compaints what so ever. Now we have Bella Bee, or Princess Bella. She…

Four times now, in the early morning, over about the last couple of weeks, Trav has just stood hunched, tail tucked, obviously in pain. This lasts for maybe 10 minutes, then he licks his urethra for maybe five minutes. Then he's fine--his usual playful, bouncing self. He's eating fine and doesn't seem to have any problems with pee and poop. His food hasn't changed recently. He was at the vet's office yesterday for a Bordetella booster and his temperature was fine. I asked the vet tech…

A missionary knocked on our door this morning to give us a bible and invite us to his church. We aren't religious but we thought it would be nice to take the bible from him anyways. Well, 10 unsupervised minutes later...
I think this may be a double bad for Darwin. Just when I thought he was broken of his paper shredding…

Just need to share, (or vent) that I have never known a dog to eat as much Non-food items as my Bella. I swear she must have the makings of a hardware store in her belly by now! I figure most will come out one end or the other eventually, but it's the stuff that will get stuck or perforate that concerns me. I just can't figure out what it is that attracts her to this "stuff". Plastic, cardboard, sticks, rocks, fabric, socks, underwear, metal, stuffed animals, paper anything, pens, pencils,…

A question that I have as a dog 'first timer' is this....What is up with Ollie humping his stuffed dog? He has been doing this since we got him home. Is it a dominance thing? Is this common behavior? He does it only to this one stuffed dog named "fluffy". A high energy play time seems to send him into that humping mode. Is it a stress reliever of sorts? It is quite funny for us to watch but we hide the toy when we have company to prevent embarrassment! My 5 and 9 year old daughters call it…

My DH picked me up from work today, it so happens my office is near our dog park, as I went to meet the car in the parking lot this note was stuck to the passenger side window with this picture.
You are welcome to join Dad and I. We are going to the park. I brought your boots, gloves, hat and scarf (so much to remember)
You can sit in the car…

I keep wondering about my Doodle Girl. Shelby is usually so happy and wanting to play with Daddy. Its cold outside, yep, in Florida and the temps have just screwed up everything. I usually sit outside with her and take her for lots of car rides but Its just too cold lately. Also we have a cat named Cali that was a rescue from our local shelter. Mom has an awesome repoire with her and Shelby may just thinking that…
