Looking for a Doodle

We live in the NY area and are looking for information on how to rescue a Goldendoodle. We are not looking for a puupy but rather a doodle who is in need of a home and or one that is retired from breeding. Any information would be welcomed.

Thank You

Dan M

To Everyone!

I just wanted to tell everyone Thanks for such a warm welcome...

Hopefully, my wife will jump in here with me and start posting as I see I'm probably out numbered by all you women! :) But, that's fine...I like my Doodles just as much as all of you!

Again, thanks! Talk to all of you soon!

The Endless Adventures of Cole...

Today at lunch Cole saw ducks flying over the house and tried to chase them! He had never seen a duck much less a bird before. He loved it! He also sat and watched a Giant trash truck go by and cocked his head sideways because it was so loud and interesting. He started this new habit where he pulls up the grass in the yard. I know he is about to discover how to dig too, lets see how this one goes. Any suggestions?

Chow Indecision...

I have read so much information about food choices that I have rendered myself incapable of making a choice. Phoebe is set to arrive on 3/1 so I need to make my decision soon. I spoke to her breeder and she told me she is feeding the puppies Purina Puppy Chow but the parents eat raw. Based on what I told her about my research, she told me that she is confident I will make the right choice for Phoebe and our family but I am really not too certain of that at the moment. I want to choose a food… Continue

The Endless Adventures of Cole...

In four days our precious baby boy has learned his name and comes when you call, rings the bell to go outside or at least potty's on the paper if he can't make it, goes to his bed when you say "go get in your bed." He learned in two days that the clinking of a fork and bowl mixing his food makes the same sound as when we are eating our food, he knows how to sit and sits when you point down, he learned how lay down when you say "down." He runs to the laundry room when you ask him if he wants a… Continue

Shorty Chocolate Male Labradoodle needs a new family

Shorty was born Feb 2005 and I was contacted by his family that are suffering from economic issues and can no longer keep Shorty. He is a Chocolate Labradoodle approx 70 lbs and currently lives in Lansing, MI. I am trying to help find Shorty a new family in that area. Here are more specs on him.

My then 4 year old son named him Shorty Hair, which we shortened to just Shorty for practicality. He's very intelligent, knows several commands, is crate-trained, and just incredibly friendly. Our… Continue

Our doodle dinner recipe

I have become some what of a food fanatic and frequently I have many exchanges with friends and future friends about food choices. Just today I was 'e'versing with a friend here on DK about a food we had presented to our panel of taste testers here. I decided that an excerpt of it is an does carry a message we should all keep in the back of our mind regarding nutritional selections for our beloved furkids and wanted to place that where it may be of more benefit to more people so here it is… Continue

Holly is afraid of my walker...

I just returned from a trip to the hospital where I had a total right knee replacement. I am doing just great, far better than I could have hoped for. However, there is one thing about which I was apprehensive. Holly is a big strong dog and enjoys getting up on the couch and sitting on our laps. She is well trained enough that if I saw her coming, just saying "no" or "off" would prevent this. She is also easily enough trained that I could keep her permanently off the couch. I do not want to… Continue

Doodle Secret ingredient!

One of the most common comments I hear from people is........my husband just doesn't like the idea of having a poodle! Or, I just don't want curly hair because I don't want it to look like a poodle! But all of us Doodle lovers out there know that the secret ingredient in the Doodle is a Poodle. What I mean is this.....part of the reason doodles are such great family dogs is because of the poodle in them........I offer the following experience.

We were headed out of town for the… Continue

What?? My finicky doodle is FAT?!

Oski had his first visit with the vet today. In his usual form, he snuffled his way happily into the clinic & charmed everyone. Still waiting on his routine blood work & the ever so fun "so fresh it's steaming stool test" but otherwise got a clean bill of health including bright pearly whites...EXCEPT that he's 79lb, a whopping 4lbs overweight! Now, don't get me wrong. I should only be so grateful that he's eaten enough to be considered… Continue

Hi - just joined doodlekiss.com! We have a Goldendoodle named Teddy. He is 4/12 years old and such a fantastic pet. Does anyone out there have any of Teddy's siblings? Teddy is from Ginger and Bam Bam's 8/30/04 litter from Fox Creek Farm! I would love to compare notes on his relatives! Continue

Samantha's First Vacation

January 23, 2009

packed up the car - Mom made sure I had all my favorite toys, extra collars and leashes, hair & tooth brush, kibble, and even the pot and knife she uses to cook my chickne every night. She even brought 2 Moo's for me - I am not supposed to know about the 2nd one but I peeked when she wasn't looking.

We drove all day, stopped 2 times for me to run and pee (I think they were the ones that needed to pee but I won't tell them I figured it out). We got to our friends… Continue

Heartbreak and tears

So, as most of you know, I have been anxiously waiting for my new puppy for months; asking questions, shopping, and reading EVERYTHING so that I would know what to do. My countdown to January 30th started the day she was born. She was the best looking pup of the bunch!

At about 6 weeks old, the pup I had picked out sprained her right wrist while still with the breeder (Sharon). By some freak accident, the mom-dog stepped on her just right and tore the ligaments holding her carpal bones… Continue

One More Month of Waiting

Today our Phoebe turned four weeks old so we only have one more month to go before her arrival. I am starting to buy things for her from toys and shampoo to Chris Christensen grooming tools and a leash and collar. I now need to puppy-proof the house and decide on which food to start her on once she gets here. I must admit that has been one of my biggest decisions and challenges thus far--too many choices.. Another admission would be that I have some anxiety about this new little life joining my… Continue

IF I DIDN'T HAVE A DOG

If I Didn't Have a Dog

I could walk around the yard barefoot in safety.

My house could be carpeted instead of tiled and laminated.

When the doorbell rings, it wouldn't sound like a kennel.

When the doorbell rings, I could get to the door without

wading through fuzzy bodies who beat me there.

I could sit on the couch and my bed the way I wanted,

without taking into consideration how much space

several fur… Continue

5 months

long time no see, eh?

Nothing new has really been happening, hence the lack of updates.

Today I scheduled his surgery to get neutered, which will happen the first week in March.

Oliver is still very patient with our 7 year old chihuahua (who is the boss) she growls whenever he gets on her nerves and then he very slowly backs away from her...this is hilarious to see btw, a 7lb chihuahua scaring the big dog. lol However, 9 times out of 10 he can entice her to play… Continue
