Move over rubber duckie because you aren't the only one that makes bathtime lots of fun.
Today, I decided I would give Max a long needed bath. I've been counting the days since surgery to get all the IV fluids and yogurt out of his beard and paws - not to mention, the since accumulated, mud from all the
Poochie Bell runs. I gave Max quite a few baths over the last few months because I really wanted to get him aquainted with the idea. I even took him to the groomer at a young…

I'm having intense puppy fever right now. Just perused a ton of breeder websites going ga-ga over puppies...chocolates, creams, reds...I want them all!!!
But I have THREE dogs and I honestly can't handle a fourth. Okay...**
I** could but Clark couldn't ;-)
So...I am now thinking it's time I create a Breeder Relocation Package for all doodle breeders. Some of the best wines are made here now, we have mild winters, beautiful warm summers, ALL FOUR SEASONS...

So I'm writing this as a different blog since it is a much different issue... let me fill you in our some past events!
When Dan was probably 18 - 19 years old he was on his jet ski, jumping wakes, behind a boat. Well, he jumped a really high wake and fell into the water with the jet ski crashing down on his leg. He had broken his femur, the biggest bone in your body. A nearby boat saw what had happened and pulled him out of the water. His leg was huge and Dan was in great pain. They…

Let's just say our stairs are quite steep!!!
Ever since Remington came home with us he has been a tad bit scared of those stairs to say the least. When we went up the stairs we carried him up... when we went down the stairs we carried him down. Soon he conquered the long climb up after working with him for weeks to get his confidence level up... but going down was a whole different story! We started by putting him on the second step from the bottom and letting him go down and we…

I think I am running a close second to Jess feeling wiped out.
I have stayed a little later the last couple of nights, When I enter the house the phone rings, the cell goes off, and it is a succession of calls until it is time to crash. I am so far behind on everything and feeling overwhelmed. I'm not sleeping. Hobbes CHF is getting worse and he needs to get to the vet. Yada, yada, yada....This is me venting.
Jess was not having a great day a couple of days ago, I could not even…

My GD Thomas is 28 weeks old now. We are so diligent in walking him and making sure he has plently of excercise. He even goes for a "group dog run" for 1 1/2 hrs. to an off leash park where he can run and frolick with the 9 other dogs in the group. Today was his "day off". I let him out in the backyard at least 10 times before noon when I left the house. I did not return until 6:oo pm. I let him out in the backyard-I was just too tired to go for a walk tonight my head is aching and my husband…

Beckett is a year old now. We had his birthday on Saturday. And he was pampered and spoiled. Especially after what he's been thru these last two weeks! I can't believe how fast it went by though, with potty training, crate training, a bad haircut, etc. He's such a sweetie. We love him so much. I really didn't think we'd get another dog after our golden passed awhile ago. But I'm so happy we did. He has his own little personality. He's the best dog. I really would love to get another one. I'm…

Teeheeee!
Max was on the floor playing with his three new toys - yes, I spoil him sometimes - and I see him licking his lips in an odd way. So, I looked in his mouth and what do I see? His front tooth is dangling from his gumline. Yep, I took it alright. It's just so teeny tiny!
That just made my day.
Later,
~Danielle

I just typed this out once, and it didn't save. So...here we go again.
At the risk of jinxing things, the last couple of days walking Toby has been a joy. He has been doing "with me", "let's go", "get in", sitting at street corners with little encouragement, and even "look at me". Also, when we encountered someone who wanted to pet him yesterday, he sat patiently and accepted the attention. I have had comments by a couple of different people stating what a well behaved dog I have. I…

Well, even after our terrible day yesterday Phoebe pulled it off in the end and graduated from puppy k. She did a fabulous job and even took first place in two events...the down/stay and the trick (I taught her to crawl). She did very well and even made it into the second round for another event. I never thought it would happen after the poor behavior during the day but we are so proud of her. We will be starting the next round of obedience training come May/June. Now if I could only get her to…

Our puppy is one week old today! I posted some new pictures of him. Just 7 or 8 weeks and he will be home, no problem right? Should go fast since we waited 3 months for him to be born!
Busy around here. I have started the long slow and often painful process of PT. I can't move my arm unless I am doing PT exercises for the next 6 weeks, no lifting of anything! UGH! Did I mention we bought a new house and will be moving around the 1st of June? Packing one handed should be interesting.…

After work I decided to take Bear for a walk on the boardwalk. We live just down the road from Lake Michigan and have a beautiful place to walk. Bear loves the boardwalk. He gets to see all the people, dogs, and of course ducks!
Bear met a GoldenDoodle named Gordie on his walk today. So nice to see him next to a full grown Doodle. He has lots of dog friends but we've never come across another Doodle. (Hi Gordie's Mom!)
Bear decided to play in the sand so it was off to our…

A man and his dog were walking along a road. The man was enjoying the scenery, when it suddenly occurred to him that he was dead.
He remembered dying, and that the dog walking besi de him had been dead for years.. He wondered where the road was leading them.
After a while, they came to a high, white stone wall along one side of the road. It looked like fine marble. At the top of a long hill, it was broken by a tall arch that glowed in the sunlight.
When he was…

Hi Doodle Members,
My husband & I are looking to meet-up with anyone that purchased their Doodle from MountainCreek Doodles, in Greenville, SC...we thought it would be nice for Guinness to see some of his brothers & sisters. This is something we just never thought of until now. Guinness was born Oct.25, 2008.

Phoebe is eleven months old today.
Jess had a great day. He is steadier in his static standing and moves around a little more easily. He is still pacing himself on his walker walks, and added weights today. Weeks ago he handled a rigorous weight program, today he worked with two pounds. The funny thing is, his form is so good, you would think he was working with twenty times the weight. He is happy to be advancing and really motivated to get stronger.
One of the docs told…

Hello all! I am new to this site and thought I would start getting a little more active. The other night I was giving Bella, my 6 month old goldendoodle, her nightly belly rub. As she was sitting there my hand discovered a large lump on her back/shoulder area that I had never noticed before. I examined the area further and found it was HUGE, it was bigger then the palm of my hand. It was also very soft, felt like it was filled with liquid. I became extremely worried as any dog owner…

Do you remember the Elton John song,
The Circle of Life, from the movie,
The Lion King? Today I feel like this is what is happening. You may have seen the blog from Teri Fann of Goldens-n-Doodles as she wrote about and video taped the birth of 3 new goldendoodles soon after coming into this world, today. Well sometime between now and hopefully next Tuesday, Teri and/or Teri's friend Kathy will be present for the birth of the newest member of our family, Cimmy (Cinnamon's…

Let's just say the
Poochie Bells are working too well. Max likes to tap them when he is bored with being inside. I wouldn't mind so much but, our backyard is unfinished and the fence currently doesn't have any gates. That means I must leash Max and trudge through the muddy backyard with him just so he can spend a minute sniffing. I don't have much of a choice for I fear he will stop using the bells when it counts. We have been accident free and I've become spoiled over the last few days…

So today was vaccination day for both boys - final shots for Chase (four months old), annual check up and shots for Hartley (16 months old). I was so proud of both of them. I ended up going on my own, husband had to work, and I was a little anxious how it would go - the extra pair of hands would have been nice! But, Chase stood nice and still for his shots and actually turned his head to watch what was going on!! Hartley excelled himself, standing nice and still for his examination and shots,…
