'Don't Tell Dad'

Twenty seven years ago I had a Four year old daughter Jessica, a baby son Jordan, a husband and a German Shepherd Chris.  tragedy struck our family when my baby son died, suddenly and unexpectedly on my first day back to work.  Jordan was 15 and a half weeks old and in the care of a lovely French Au Pair for just over two hours when I returned home to find him in his pram, not breathing and lifeless.  He was still warm and my frantic drive home was the result…

This has nothing at all to do with dogs but is such a cute and true story that happened to a friend of mine a few years ago.

My friend went out one evening leaving her young son at home with her DH. While she was out her DH spotted a mouse and like the good husband he was, he did his very best to catch it before his wife came home. So the kids are pretty much grown up and I thought all the embarrassing moments were over, right?  Enter Murphy Doodle....back to being mortified on a regular basis.   We're walking on our Bike Path each day now with both guys.  Each day brings a new "Murphy experience".  Yesterday we walked a couple of miles and he was doing great...lots of people, bikes, dogs....no problems.  Then I noticed a guy walking towards us....and I didn't like him.  He just looked really arrogant...perfect…

That's what our next addition is made of!   Coming late August/Early September Natalie, Rosco, and Boca are getting a little brother!!! Natalie was temporarily named Wiggle Worm and this little guy's in utero name is "Peanut" :-)  We have far to go in deciding a real name.  He and Natalie will be about 21 months apart.

Several posts about disposable pets, got me thinking about our rescue dog. They say the right dog finds you, but in our case we have had the right dog find us "Four" times. First, our family dog, Hershey, who we got when our children were young. We did almost everything wrong with her and she blossomed into the absolute best dog. we moved to a dog friendly house with a yard that has a good fence. been unpacking and cleaning stuff up all week. i had trouble sleeping last night. i couldn't stop thinking about saterday. she is almost here!

When Lyric had her litter, I wanted a smaller pup since Lyric is already a pretty big dog and Mattie my other doodle is small. I wanted a pup that was in between! So, I wanted the smallest pup in the litter--and the fact that the black and white one, who I was just totally in love with, was the smallest clinched it.

PERI PASSED HER CANINE GOOD CITIZEN EVALUATION TONIGHT!!!!  I could not be more pleased and neither can the Lady :)  She is zoom, zoom, zooming all around the house tonight!

Hi all you doods.  Yeah, it's spring and I have spring fever badly.  I am so much friskier, and honestly, why is Mom so hyped up about my constant barking at everything that lives and breathes in the backyard?  These brown fuzzy things tease me so from the top of the fence.  They take alot of barking at bc I am only 9 lbs., so I have to puff myself up and really get after them.  Boy I am fast, tho, and I check all four corners of my wooden fenced in yard. Zooming…

Today I spent the morning with Jack giving him a bath, grooming and nail trimming. He just warms my heart, not usually on grooming days, usually we are so wiped out, that when we are done we go our separate ways and have a rest.

This a.m. started off just fine - well, except for getting up at 4:30 a.m. to help DH pack and drive him to the airport.  I fed Rooney about 5:30, he ate just fine, had aready gone poo and pee and he was just running around like a crazy toddler.  The mobile groomer was coming at 9:00 to give Roo a much needed spa day, I was excited - I love it when he is buffed and puffed - so cute.  So I'm thinking this is going to be a good day - till 8:15 when Rooney threw up his breakfast.  I didn't…

Today is Peri's 2nd Birthday!  I can't believe it has been two years since I received an email from the breeder saying "she only had 6 puppies and you will have to wait until the next litter".  I was crushed.  But low and behold, two people ahead of me did not want a girl.  I have to admit, I wanted a male originally.  I decided I liked the parents and didn't care and went with the little girl.  To say I made the right decision is a huge understatement.
