This is another awesome slide show. What totally blows my mind is how many of our dogs look alike. I kept seeing other Doods that I would swear were Guinness...but I knew they couldn't be because I didn't take the picture.

We would like to wish everyone a Safe and Happy New Year. As you can see Lilly started early. Don't worry about the horn in her mouth, we won't throw it away, I'll just give it to DH to use and he'll never know.=))) hee-hee

The snow pictures are so beautiful! Every new pictures that came up was my new favorite. Please send a little snow to San Diego, because Bear and I want to play in the snow too. Have a safe and Happy New Year Doodle Friends.

Fina our F1 golden doodle is the sweetest dog but sometimes we wonder if she knows she is a dog! First, although she can bark, she doesn't. She will yarn (a high pitch yarn) when a normal dog barks. Then she has those grunt sounds almost like a bear when she lies down. When we pet her and she really likes it, she will sigh. And then there is the apples, she loves apples... when the skin is removed she has no interest whatsoever for apples unless their skin has been peeled. To finish with her…

Our hearts are so full, exhausted, and empty today.
For weeks I have talked with a woman in Wisconsin about Lace. Each day she would apologize for calling and writing so often. I told her she needed to call me this much. She needed to hear all that was going on. I would tell her the worst--holding back the good. I didn't want anyone to know what an angel I really had. I wanted to keep her all to myself. She was a great dog, a wonderful girl, with a broken heart and a lost soul. I also…

We have a new puppy. 4 months of waiting for the gestation, then the delivery, then the weaning, and now, finally our Lucy is home. Day 2 so far. She is a dream come true and both my DH and I can not imagine a more perfect puppy. Neither of us has ever had a puppy together, or separately. Well, I did, when I was 7yrs old, for about a month, before the pup was hit and run over by 2 cars on our busy street (sad, sad tale, but that's a story for another blog).
My grown daughter warned…

I hope everyone had as wonderful a Christmas vacation as we have! Thank you all you SoCal doodlers that met up at the Laguna Canyon Dog Park while we were in town. It was a great time and a great turn out, we met so many new friends that we can't wait to come back and do it all again. Thanks Nancy for putting the event together and all the great pics you captured, since my camera's battery went, you really were a life saver.
The…

I put a comment on a picture today. It was of an adorable doodle named Bernie and the picture featured his fantastic nose. That made me start thinking about my favorite parts of Callie, and made me curious if there were people who felt the same way, even if it wasn't on the same doodle part.
For me it's the nose. I love Callie's nose so much that it is ridiculous. It's huge. It's black. It's shiny. She has allergies so it's frequently runny. I don't care. There's just something about…

On this beautiful sunnny morning our hearts are broken as we had to let our beloved Keegan go. He was 14 years old and the time had come to let him rest. He has been the keeper of our daughter's secrets since she was 4 and the gentle soul that has been the quiet leader of our other furballs. They are who they are because of him. We will miss you Keegan.…

Samson did very well during Christmas. He had NO interest in our Christmas tree whatsoever!! I was extremely surprised and pleased! He did well with his surgery too. Everything is healed and he was back to his old self the next day pretty much. We've been walking almost every day. He loves the walks. He is 7 months old now. It seems to be going fast now!
I do not have much on my counters anymore. He has also eliminated my hanging calendar on the side of my cabinet, shredded. But...I…

I emailed the breeder that I got Duncan from on his 1st birthday to give her an update and send my holiday card. She asked if I could send his pics to the "guardian momma" of his mom Maggie.
Well today, Duncan's momma's "momma" emailed me and told me the story of his litter.
Apparently there were 5 total but 2 weeks early 2 pups were miscarried leaving only 3 and then a week later she had the remaining three but they lost another that day leaving only 2, Duncan and his brother. I was…

We went to our first Doodle Romp at the Laguna Canyon Dog Park today. We had the most wonderful time and met such nice people and doodles alike. We met up with three other doodles that came from the same breeder as Bear came from. Bear even had his first crush on a big girl name Frankie. (80 pounds 7 months old) Sorry Frankie, in the dog world that's cool to be big. He really liked her. I noticed when I was looking back at the pictures of Frankie and Bear, they were holding paws. I couldn't…

My cousin told me about this webside. She has a doodle (lab or golden) but I have a cockapoo. She said this website is for poodle mixes. Is that true?? Haha!!

Some of you may remember me complaining about Mater itching all last winter, pulling his coat out in clumps. It finally stopped after we tried various diet changes, benedryl, extra exercise - the whole gamut of possible "cures". Over the summer his thin spots filled in and he was the same hairy boy as always. This year I paid closer attention - and I think I found the cause. The moment we turned the heat on in October the itching began again, non-stop. It would appear that he suffers the same…

Guinness and I finally had a quiet day alone today. For the past several days, his life has been very full...lots of excitement and company. He was a bit "needy" today, probably because he was feeling a little bored. I noticed that he has a total hierarchy of "moves" to get me to pay attention to him. First, he sits by me and stares directly at me. If that doesn't work, he puts his head on my lap. If that doesn't work, he jumps up on the side of the chair. If that doesn't work, he starts…

Abel survived his first Christmas.
We put up our tree at the beginning of December. I was expecting that he would either knock it over with his bum while looking out the window, would knock it over while playing with the cat, or would want to eat some of the ornaments. None of this happened.
Next came a Christmas party that I hosted. He loved it all! He loved the company, he loved the snacks, everyone loved him!
Then Christmas morning finally rolled around. He got spoiled with…
